Thank you for the inspiration. I used your plan for the basics altered some parts and added my own touches including wrapping the handle with paracord and adding some logos. Ready to put it too the test.

Just finished making these and they came out better than expected. Thanks for sharing your plans too the measurements were spot on. I don't even want to think about what i was getting ready to do with some scrap 1x2s before watching this.

How thick is the wood used ?

It ends up being 1 1/2 inches thick. I used two sheets of 3/4 plywood, but I have seen other people using 2 by boards and not bother with the gluing step. I think either way would work, I just had plywood scraps around when I was making these. Good luck with your project!

would a plank of 8 by 2 be sufficient

@@richardjohnson7002 I've seen people make them out of 2x8s so I presume so. The main thing is to make sure the cut out for the barbell is in the centre.

Is the height for Olympic plates? (ones with 450mm diameter)
