OMG!! Thank you SOO much for sharing your privacy fence build!! My husband flipped over it too! We are going to do this with our deck, more for sun and wind protection than privacy, but it works. This hoft system is the bomb! I didn't even know it existed till now. Yes it is on the pricey side, but we are renters, and we love the idea that we can dismantle it and take it with us when we move. Well, if that heat gets too much, you can strip off and go out on your deck in the evening and no-one will see you. Aw, Sam. Where to start. I'm so freakin' happy for you. Well, now I know the motivation for your wonder woman efforts in that heat. You knocked it out of the park big style girl. The deck is awesome. So beautiful. I love the railing. Love the privacy. Excellent work! Once your trees grow you might like to reduce the length of the front railings so that you can enjoy the garden… just sharing my thoughts. It does look a little boxed up because of your need for privacy, I am sure. But what craftswomanship! Wonderful !

How about using a router to carve a design into the planks, especially helpful that the planks can be removed if need be?
