Put the thermostat probe in a cup of water. You'll get a better idea of ambient, and prevent your compressor from turning on and off as often.

We tried this method also, we had a lot of condensation in the bottom, possibly from old seals. I put a bag of charcoal in the bottom to absorb the moisture.

2 years later, still happy with the thermostat? Looking for a way to set my ground meat freezer to 28F for sausage making

Any updates? Can you do a video of the meat coming out after a few days and maybe butchering a quarter.? Maybe Entre recipe.

I like the idea. However, shutting down a refrigeration cycle and starting back up is bad for the compressor. It may give out prematurely. Keep us updated on the long term results.
