You file it down and then apply acetone to a cotton ball and put it on your nail and cover it with foil. What did you do to take yours off ?

Remove polish, file nails until they are rough and not shiny, then soak. Mine come off really quick when I do that.

Soak off in acetone for 30-50 minutes

I'm a nail tech and if you just have dip on and not gel on top then you can just soak your nails in acetone. Put the acetone in some sandwich bags with a small paper towel. The paper towel is for you when your nail starts to come off, you use that paper towel and rub your nails on it so the layers can come off easier. Also, to make this process go faster, put a hot towel under the acetone and not in it. If you don't have a hot towel, use a bowl of hot water but be careful not to dilute the acetone.

I have a quick tip for all my fellow nail biters! Please please PLEASE make one of your goals to quick biting your nails! Your hands are covered in germs and bacteria and putting your hands in your mouth is gross in general. Even if you don’t care about having cute nails, it’s a bad habit in general. Tips for stopping: 1. Find other things to bite, like the top of your pen, gum, or healthy snacks like carrots or celery 2. Use a nail biting prevention polish. It’s a clear polish that has a bad taste and makes you not want to bite them. They’re pretty cheap at stores like CVS or anywhere with a beauty section. (I find these work really well!) 3. Stay consistent! Don’t say that you’re gonna stop one day and then give up a week later. Stopping a habit takes time and you need to stay persistent. You can do it! Something else I want to note, one of my biggest motivators is that I really want to have nice nails. I watch videos like this everyday and remember: if I don’t bite my nails, I can have pretty nails like hers! And stuff like that. But it’s also that my hands will look prettier, I won’t get as many painful hangnails, and in general I won’t be embarrassed by my hands. I haven’t bitten them in about 2 weeks, and I’ve been applying olive oil to make my cuticles nicer. My nails haven’t grow dramatically, but they do look a lot healthier already! Ok, sorry for this long comment, I hope I inspired some of you to quit biting, good luck friends!

I bit my nails for about thirty years. Nothing could stop me! They bled and hurt like hell, but still I couldn't stop. I got acrylics, and when I had them on I had no desire at all to bite them. I hated my hands without acrylics on, my natural nails looked horrible!! It came down to money. I couldn't afford the acrylics anymore. So my last set I kept on as long as possible, took them off correctly, and my natural nails were long. That was it, haven't bit my nails since, and it's been about 3 years now. I'm so proud of myself! If I can do it, anyone can!!

Love your nail tutorial videos! Thanks to you I took the plunge and started doing my own gel nails and it has saved me a ton! After your first dip video, you made it look so easy that it gave me the courage to try it and I am not looking back. Been doing them for the last 3 months and I love it!!! I do agree that the regular dip top coat is not a shiny as gel and sometimes it comes out patchy no matter how much I clean my nails before applying so I'll be using gel for that from now on. I hope you continue to get better and from what I've heard your reaction to the powder is actually happening to a lot of people. Stay safe!!!

For not being a professional, you do a nice job. I have 25 years of experience in the beauty industry and only recently started dipping. I love it! I would love to share a tidbit with you. Rather then using the Kiara Sky topcoat, having to air dry in between, wasting time, I use IBD, Intense Sealer gel, lamp for 1 1/2 minutes, it's done! No waiting, client is out the door! The shine is absolutely incredible, none like it in my experience. I even use it over all gel polishes and seal acrylics with it. Good luck. I am subscribing for you thanks!

Some people have a reaction to the liquids used when doing dip powder nails. Have you tried a different dip liquid brand? Zebra glitter and nails has a low odor system that seems to be good for people that have the “dip flu” . It’s the original shiny formula she has. She also has an ez top, and 2n1 system but those are a little stronger in odor. Her original base and shiny top are great. She has some beautiful dip powder colors as well!! I love the mani you did!! Soo pretty!!
