DIY E90 BMW 328i Valve Cover Gasket Replacement (N51/N52)

How was the reliability? I heard n55s having problems with bearings but I believe that was only on older models on the e chassis. I’d like to know how they improved injectors and hpfp the n54 had

It's really not that hard bro. This is literally the easiest engine to do this job. The engine itself is simple & easy to complete disassemble. It's a Lego engine.

This is literally the easiest engine to work on, you're nuts. Try working onna. V8 where everything is disorganized & all over the place. I've worked on a dozen different car engines, and bmw I6 is the easiest & simplest engine. Made like a Lego. Everything is orderly & easily placed.

@@AugustDreamScape I've worked on a few. I run a auto repair business dude. If you think this is "easy" then you haven't worked on many cars. A little Corolla or Civic is decades easier.

@Jedi_Luke Not my kinda car. I've worked on Fords, Chevy & Nissan & Nissan is the worse. A lot of their engines are installed sideways so you can't even access the drive belt, and the practice of placing the oil filters in far off cramped sides or even directly under the engine basically meaning you need two buckets to catch oil, is utterly retarded. The V-Engine design is atrocious to begin with. BMW I6 is EASY EASY EASY, I mean how can you not see it? A straight engine designed to be easily disassembled for repairs, theboil filter is on top of the engine in the front for easy access; a utterly lack of engine clutter as far as random hoses & wires go. It disassemble like a dream. Maybe I am biased because BMW I6 engines are what got me into DIY in the first place. I won't ever own another car because of how easy they are to maintain & service yourself. Only took me a few hours to replace my BMWs MLS head gasket for christ sake 🤣 not even a complicated task. Other car manufacturers do NOT know how to engineer, design or build a competent engine that doesn't look like it was smashed together by a 4 year old with down syndrome.

Yes you have to put the spark plug tubes back in, anything removed during the process needs to be put back

The bolt by the spark plugs in the middle of vcg is snapped. Spins freely. What do i do now doesn’t seem to be leaking

Did all this but my valve cover is STUCK! Sealed and only losens in places. I can't remove it

Make sure you remove the bolts in the middle of the valve cover as well that may be the issue and it would require removing it equally on all sides as you slide it up

Which piece are you talking about? Is it the radiator support? Or the plastic piece for the air intake?
