DIY Electric Dryer Repair (no heat). Thermostat / Heating Element replacement. Kenmore Maytag Amana

In this video I complete a simple and affordable do-it-yourself repair of an Amana electric dryer with the symptom of no heat. This repair will also work for other similar makes and models (search your make/model online to see if the parts fit your dryer). Make sure to ALWAYS take safety precautions by unplugging your dryer before opening it up. Good luck!

Or there are many many other after-market parts out there. Just search the OEM part numbers and take your pick. Your best bet for longevity will probably be to pay a little extra for the original OEM part.

contact with the wires with the back off would not shock you, it would kill you.

Highly unlikely it’s 30 amps shock you hard at most unless you have an underlying heart condition

I have the same dryer and just put a new thermostat and heating element in exactly like you did and no heat still. Any idea what else it might be??

Mine didn't have a noticeable burnt smell to it but I don't think is out of the realm of possibility.

Just changed my element following this. I bought mine new less than a year ago. And my element had arc marks all over the place. Works now tho 😊

We've had ours for probably 10 years!! We've replaced that thermal fuse a few times but this is the first time to replace the element and thermostat.
