Also, I completely agree with your choice of stainless: the steel will lose it's coating eventually anyways, and imbedded in the wood like that, if moisture ever gets in, it's never coming out. Also, in a wood stock, the stainless looks good, you're not breaking any "tactical" aesthetic.

Nothing wrong with the 3rd secure point kinda sets it off with the other release hole 👍nice job bud I’m doing this to my custom built stock when finished 👍

In hind sight, would have you kept that angle or sacrificed some of the adjustment for a straighter adjustment? Also, do you find the stainless rods slip at all? That would be my reasoning for using aluminum rods.

For aesthetics, maybe but in reality you will take all the measurements and set it up so that the middle position will be for yourself. And it will never move again. Well maybe a little with age. So the answer would be NO... because only at the min and max position does it look out of place.
