I used to guide for the first boat dock below the damn in the 70’s. I’ll never forget how beautiful and calm it was when we hit the water in the mornings. Fishing was kinda tough when they opened the damn. Very fond memories.

Thanks! Sure Appreciate it! We aren't experts on the white but we always have a great time on our trips to the White! I may try and put together a "how to" or "podcast" style video and go more in depth!

@@crappiejosh We have a couple video podcasts on our youtube channel right now, but will probably add them to Spotify eventually. Check out our streamside podcast with Creek Adventures. We talked about the white a little on that podcast! More podcasts to come!

Nice instructional video....thanks. So how deep is the water there? I see you are running an outboard. Is that safe? Can I bring a 16' bass boat with a 50 on the back?
@OutdoorHighlife
@OutdoorHighlife 2 жыл бұрын
Thank You! The water depth all depends on how much they are generating. The river changes drastically with generation. Most people run an outboard on that river. Usually 10-20 hp. But I've seen many bass boats with 50# hp motors on the river. Just have to be careful, especially when the water rises or falls!

What part of Oklahoma are you from? I’m from NE Oklahoma and a buddy and me was there on Nov. 5 - 7 and had a great time. We are very new at fly fishing, so would you share how you have your nymph rods set up? When you say worms and eggs are you talking artificial worms and power bait eggs or more of the fly worms and eggs? How much does the boat rent for?

I'm from Southeast Oklahoma! That's cool, I used to live in Tahlequah and made quite a few trips over to the white river! We were using 2 flies. We were using an artificial egg pattern with a bead on it for the top fly. We then tied on about 12 inches of tippet to our second fly which was an artificial worm also known as a San Juan worm. You just want to make sure your flies are bouncing on bottom, so use as much split shot as you need to do that. Total taxes in all is 140.00 per day. Not bad if you have 2 or 3 people and split it the costs.
