Glad to see younger fellas still handling some man projects. A tip so you don't end up lopping your fingers off with the circular saw, never cut a board with both ends supported or the saw will bind like it did between the jack stands and can easily kick back and get you. Always let the end you want to keep fall free while cutting
@Kyegar7 жыл бұрын
Natedoc808 I always get it mixed up whether or not it's supposed to be supported. But thankfully it hasn't kicked back on me yet! I'll refer to this comment next time I'm cutting 👍🏼

0:57 Just note for anyone who cares. Please if you are using the skilsaw by yourself for example this video. at 0:57 Don't let the 2x4 on the right side sit on anything. The skil saw will get pinched by the wood and since his hand is so close, he could cut his finger off who knows. you want that right side to hang off. K thanks.

Just note it's only a skil saw If it's made by skil

@@joshuasturt4242 seeing as you've established that it's ok to point things out just because we can, it's only Kleenex if Kleenex made it, they're only rollerblades if they're made by Rollerblades, it's only a sawzall if it's made by Sawzall/Milwaukee. They're only q-tips if they're made by Q-tips, it's only purell if it's made by Purell. And so on and so forth. Half the crap we use today gets named from a brand that made the item well known.

Great job! Looks MUCH more organized and, actually, I think the 2X4s look better than store-bought sheet metal storage solutions anyway.. Keep it up.. Looks like you're well on your way to a functional and organized garage!

You can take it all off and redo it somewhere else.. if you move...the best way to do it next time is with metal anchors so you can take the wood off and on and many times as you want. anyways great job increasing the value of the home.

I don't know why people don't buy/use industrial pallet racking. It comes in tons of sizes and is dirt cheap when bought used. Super strong 2000lbs per shelf and you can change it up as your needs change.

Great video brah. I bought a tire rack from my local shop and was going to wall mount it. I came across your video and honestly I think I’m going to do something similar so I can have a couple totes and some bbq supplies and a large cooler. Just subbed, keep up the great work. Edit: what construction screws did you use and did you use any lag bolts? Looks like a sturdy build. Most tire racks are rated between 300-400 lbs. Going to build something similar before winter.

Your parents must be proud of you that you know how to build over head shelves in the garage. My Son is 14 yrs old and all he wants to do is waste his time playing Fortnite ... I have a 98 turbo nissan 240sx, 14 turbo Genesis coupe and 94 twin turbo Supra and 2 motorcycles. His friends come over and are impressed with my cars and want to look at them yet he is like... They are just cars who cares .. I try to get him to learn about motors and cars and tools and wood, but he is not interested, only in that stupid fortnite game... Just to let you know, $200 is a LOT of $$ to some people, it may not be a lot for you. But awesome job you did there :-)

Storing tires like that will cause flat spots, unless you rotate them constantly. The way they were at the beginning is how they should be stored, ideally with the air pressure removed, or at least that's what Michelin recommends. Golf clubs should only be kept outside during the summer, otherwise they should be kept inside. The driver and wood heads are vacuum sealed and will get damaged if they freeze, so will golf balls. Looks great otherwise.
@Kyegar5 жыл бұрын
Goldeye666 Hellfish I had no idea! I’ll keep it in mind, but most tires stored up there are just drift spares so it doesn’t really matter. And I always keep my clubs in the garage! They may have just been out for space during the video.

if you just overlap the 2x4s and not butt them .. it would be strong as f, and you need some moss out on ur bricks

@kirbylee577 жыл бұрын
Are you sure you fastened that cobbled up shelf to studs, and ceiling joist? I noticed many of the screws were drilled into just the sheet rock. If you slowed down, and watched a few "how to" video's, I think you might tear down what you have and start from scratch. You cant just pretend you know what you're doing, and you cant design as you build, or you will be cutting off things you made too long, adding to the things you made too short, just like you have several times already. Watch a few video's. Not that you might learn something, you will learn a lot.
