I have known of this method in the past but had totally forgot about it. Thanks for the reminder and great demo.

Thanks man, I watched a couple of your vids this morn. :) This is so simple and works well as you know with camp cots. ATB.

We always have a ton of those sacks left over after deer season because we use them to carry corn to bait our stands. Never thought about using them as a cot! Thanks for that idea and demo!

Now you know :) lol Thanks for checking it out Robert.

that is the best hack I have seen in a long time,will for sure put it to use-thanks Wayne. The bags with single string are easy to untie but the double twine like you had is harder but doable with practice.
@kullcraven6 жыл бұрын
Thanks Steve, i untied most of the first one, then cut it the rest of the way. The second bag as you seen i just cut it. lol . Many uses for a grain sack or two. :) thanks for the comment and watching man.

Great Idea! You could always get 3 grain sacks for you tall guys. Thank you for the video, Wayne

Yes you can, i had two, although now people know the idea. :) Thanks again for dropping by and enjoy your day .

Sure looks comfortable & easy to prepare. Now all I need are feed sacks. Thanks Brian 77

I seen them at pet supply stores that sell animal feed for live stock and such. Altho not all have them, so might be alittle searching to find some. Thanks for dropping by Brian and take care .

Very nice set up. I have some of the heavy grain sacks as well. Makes sleep a lot nicer for sure.

Been a while since you posted this but I finally remembered that bran sacs are the large size that might be just the ticket for this!

As always, great idea Wayne! Especially like the couch idea, now I need to think of a simple back rest for old folks with arthritis like myself! haha! Thanks for sharing.

That's a cool concept. It looks like the same set up you used for the "It doesn't have to be pretty" video. The only downside that I can see is that you have to have 4 trees that are relatively close together.
@kullcraven6 жыл бұрын
I used the amazing camp cot in the other video, but they do the same thing. You can set these up many ways, but being suspended is a good option and less work then most set ups, if you have the trees. Thanks for watching.

Now that is very awesome my friend, very light weight, plus off the ground, which can be life saver, I was wondering if that could be done with a heavy duty tarp, thank you so much for teaching us and may the Good Lord bless you

I have a video showing how to do this with a poly tarp. tho this is much easier. Glad you enjoyed it , ATB and take care.

nice quick made cot (three fifty pound bags of onions the kind the restaurants order, the empty onion sacks from those do a good job to)

Lots of options out there, many cots been made from many materials over the years. A good sleep on a cot, instead of the ground most times.

great diy tip. will x-large fabric laundry bags work in lieu of the grain sacks, because in an improvised situation, being in a urban environment, thats what i would have access to. thanks for sharing.

I have been debating with myself and I figure you know the answer. If you just used your ratchet straps in place of the poles, would that work? Or would the smaller surface area place too much strain on the tube, whether grain sack or fabric, and possibly rip through? Thanks for the short demo!
@kullcraven6 жыл бұрын
I have thought of just using straps or rope thru the sacks, but they would slide around . I know folks have used the poles for years, and it works well. Altho you learn by trying new ideas. :) Thanks for the watch .
@mattmiller11794 жыл бұрын
I came back to this tonight. The straps by themselves definitely work and don't place undue strain on my diy tube (a simple cotton sleeping bag liner with reinforced seam). It's obviously less rigid than with poles, put pretty darn good. My struggle is figuring out the best tension system if I don't use the ratchets.

If you didn't have properly spaced trees, you could also just make 2 big tripods and place your poles on 2 of the legs on each end about 18" up from the ground.
@kullcraven6 жыл бұрын
That is the beauty of this set up, you can make the classic two tripod or do something different like i had as well. :) Thanks for the watch and comment.
@Hoonozit6 жыл бұрын
Don't forget about the potential use of two tripods between the poles instead of using the trees.
