They are a bit thicker than the common plastic ones you can buy, but this hasn't affected my guitar playing in any way. In fact, these give more stability because the plastic doesn't bend. There are picks on the market that are a lot thicker than these :)

Cool idea! Guitar picks are usually beveled on the pointy end and sharp edges taken off all the way around. You can do this with fine grit sandpaper after it's cooked.

Seeing a lot of comments in chat, depending on the thickness of the pick depends on your preference of playing. I personally use think picks for rhythm and thinner ones for lead. Same can be said about string gage. Thicker strings will keep a tune longer but thinner ones are better if you like to bend and slide up and down the neck. But if the picks are too thick, sand the edges dowm to get the tip of the pick to your liking. Also make sure you sand it anyway just to get a nice edge so it will make playing a little easier. Hi, loved the video but how long should I put the shrink plastic into the oven for. I know it varies in what shrink plastic you get but what would be an average time for it. 🙂

Hi there! If my oven has been pre-heated beforehand (to the setting on the packet), I usually leave them in the oven for around 1-2 minutes (it doesn't take too long!). If I don't think they've fully shrunk, I do sometimes leave them in there for a little longer :)

It depends what brand of Shrink Plastic you buy, although they all look like card and the package is flat and in plastic. The brand I buy is called "Shrinkles", although I've heard it being called "Shrinky Dinks" in America. :)

Evan Hall Just recycle plastic #6 usually the food clear plastic food boxes like cakes, roasted chicken hot dogs, or the big Subway sandwich containers are plastic # 6 I never, never buy shrink plastic. you're welcome 😂😘

Just add some nail polish or acrylic paint coating on those things and they should be good to withstand harsh deterioration

My Brother is building something for his Guitar. Maybe I should make him a pick. lol. Don't have that kind of paper though. Looks like fun to make. Those are pretty cool I have to say. I so wish he got to open up for Aerosmith back in the Day. It would of been so cool. But his band broke up before it happened.

The thing is, the pick is useless, for a guitar it is just way to thick, so it would be better for bass but, the edges are not round so a coin would do the same for this piece of garbage.

Hi, I don't think you can make this type of plastic. I have seen people using plastic from certain packaging, but it's probably best to buy a branded shrink plastic which is designed to be cooked in the oven :)

I would not use something with edges like that on good guitar strings (or bad guitar strings)
