Earlier, my skin was not even and showed dark spots. However now, after applying this littleexetra vitamin C face serum, it all has changed. My skin is much softer and clearer. Those dark spots are almost gone. Now my skin looks shiny and radiant, which I absolutely like. The best part? I do not need to apply as much makeup anymore since this serum works so well! It doesn't make me feel sticky, which is fantastic for me. The serum absorbs into my skin fast and doesn't leave any residue.

Can Sodium Ascorbyl Phosphate (SAP) or Magnesium ascorbyl phosphate (MAP) be used instead of Ascorbic acid
@fareloz10 ай бұрын
SAP yes because it is water soluble. Make sure to balance pH for it. But MAP no, it is stubborn to dissolve

Please advise ,why is hyaluronic acid not dissolved in glycerin, ss it dissolves easily??
@diycosmetica2 жыл бұрын
The amount of glycerin is very low. If you add the Hyaluronic acid to the hydrosol or the aloe vera juice, it will dissolve in it after a few hours and will give you a light gelatinous liquid which will be perfect consistency for a face serum.

I made the same serum exactly but why It makes skin sticky.. and we rub it peels off why,? Is it due to phantenol?
@diycosmetica2 жыл бұрын
Should not peel or be sticky. Panthenol should not give this affect, it should be dissolved into the serum. The only thing I can think of is the glycerin 🤔 you can reduce it to 1g and add the other 1g to the aloe vera. But there shouldn’t be any peeling (it should be absorbed to the skin), so maybe one of your extracts is not water based? If you have extra glycerin in the extracts that could be a reason for stickiness. Also make sure you’re using Hyaluronic acid high molecular and not the low molecular, the high molecular is what gives the serum’s consistency. Also you should not rub serum on your face, Apply by small tapping motions with your fingertips or your palms.

You can use sodium ascorbyl phosphate it’s a form of vitamin C (it’s a synthetic form of the vitamin). I’m not sure what you mean by Magnesium.
@zeuos31ahmad522 жыл бұрын

We all know that Vitamin c ascobic acid oxidizes really fast please what do you use to preveny that from happening between tocopherol acetate and ferulic acid?? And at what PH should the finished product be?
@diycosmetica2 жыл бұрын
The three factors that accelerate vitamin C oxidation are light, heat and air. You can store your serum in a dark glass bottle (similar to the one I’ve use in the video) to limit the light, and store your serum in a dark place away from sun and heat. Since this is a water-based product I didn’t use any vitamin E which is oil based. I also used a natural preservative which gives this product shelf life of 3-4 months, during that time the serum didn’t change its color to yellow or brown so, I’m guessing you are referring to longer shelf life such as store-bought products which also use many synthetic ingredients to prolong the shelf life of a product. My personal view is that when you make more natural products the best is to use them once made, and not keep them stored away for months. For more information about this serum please check the post: diycosmetica.com/hyaluronic-acid-and-vitamin-c-face-serum

Can u share sunscreen spf of 50 spf of 30 cream?
@diycosmetica2 жыл бұрын
SPF is something I would not make as a homemade product, SPF needs to be tested in a laboratory to make sure it is indeed effective. There are many people making SPF creams at home but this is not recommended. I can make a recipe with zinc oxide that have a sunscreen effect but it will not guarantee the amount of protection, I would use it more as a regular day cream after applying a tested SPF product.

This is store bought Aloe vera juice or we can use homemade one as well? If possible share the correct process to make aloe juice at home :)
@diycosmetica2 жыл бұрын
I’ve used cosmetics aloe vera juice 1:10 concentration (x10). You can make aloe vera juice by mixing aloe vera powder with distilled water. Most cosmetic suppliers offer the aloe vera 1:200 powder, which is water soluble. Add 0.5g of the aloe powder to 99.5g of distilled water to prepare a 100g of the aloe vera juice (use in your cosmetics right away or preserve it for later use). The aloe vera powder is very concentrated (we can’t use the powder instead of the juice) so you need to dilute it to have the aloe vera juice before adding to your product.

What is the type of vitamin C? I know that the effect of ascorbic acid combined with niacinamide decreases.

ascorbyl glucoside. People used to think that vitamin C and niacinamide couldn't be used together because they might cancel each other out and cause skin redness. But recent research shows they can be used together without problems.

Is it safe to mix both niacinamide and l ascorbic acid in the same Formula
@diycosmetica2 жыл бұрын
Short answer yes. It is true that research from the 60’s said they don’t go together (especially if using pure vitamin C, which is not what we are using nowadays in cosmetics). But modern studies showed it is fine to combine them. If you’re interested you can read about it here: www.paulaschoice.com/expert-advice/skincare-advice/skin-care-myths/can-niacinamide-and-vitamin-c-be-used-together.html
