💻DIY📈 How to Remap your 2.0 TDI Engine with Stage 1 | EGR removed

A video of how to remove the EGR with a remap file to prevent the engine management light from coming back on after driving a short distance.
The process is pretty much the same for every kind of VAG TDi engine - remove the EGR itself then remap the car to stop the engine management light from appearing. Which since 2018 is a MOT failure if the EML is illuminated.

What was the hot cranking issue, my misses car seems to start instant first thing but after that it cranks for a few seconds before starting

I used to have a 1.9TDI with hot start issue. Only a remap fixes it, guaranteed.

or use the hot start fix usings VCDS where you change values of the injection quality on vehicle start up that fixed mine and starts first time everytime been over a year that i did that now

Have you got a link where to buy the remap box for the laptop the one that you are using it’s for my missis car so I can flash the ecu I’m after the same as the one you got mate 👌😁👊

So you dont need to Unlock the Ecu when doing this? 1,6 tdi Skoda Fabia II 90 hp

Some ECU's are locked other unlocked from factory AFAIK - fingers crossed your fabia is unlocked otherwise it's a case of opening up the ECU on a bench and connecting wires to points on the PCB.

@@simondk8398 I'm not sure - probably somewhere in a module, but I don't know for sure. Best way would be to use that K-Tag software, should show you pretty much instantly at the bottom of the window.

@@Tony-md1re This ones is a 2005 Quattro 2.0 BKD 2.0 TDI engine. Stock this was 140bhp and with this remap increased it upto 182bhp and it drives like a different car, didn't really mention the difference in the video as I was just focusing on getting rid of the engine management light from the EGR removal.

Very expensive site for files . Why not just take it to a remap specialist its the same price if not cheaper ?

You can’t get just an EGR removed from your map by those “specialists” I spoke to about 8 different local remappers and none of them could do this. Remappers were the only place you can grab a customised map - only option was to get one from a proper tuning company but that means leaving your car there and paying a lot more 👍

I just got volkswagen tiguan remapped and egr delete was 280 from custom Tuning in Aberdeen works brilliant not had egr problem since

@@DSEC_UK thanks man for quick reply, i bought a 06 a3 tdi 170bhp yday and have found it has problems:( rough idle and stuttered revs and smokey. i think it might be egr valve can i test this before blanking? would like to use vdcs is there a cheap way?

The ones you can use on your phone are Carista and Torque - you’ll have to buy or subscribe for these to work well. Pretty much any eBay Bluetooth reader will work with those apps

It’s a 2005 A3 8P - it was a stage 1 with EGR removed £280 for the modified ECU file 👍

@@DSEC_UK i have 2003 a4 1.9tdi. u should sead 2 ppl what did your egr off 2 make hot start issue resolved 2 in the same proces i did mine engine tune up form 96kw to 125 kw egr off and hot start for 1200 kunas thats rughley 150 euros. sory for my bad english. greetings from croatia!

@@ivanperac834 Thanks - yeah it depends what you want on the remap with the engine you have - but yeah I want to get the hot start remapped next with a stage 2 - 200bhp :)

@@DSEC_UK dunoo abaut 2.0 but for 1.9 tdi stage 2 goes with changing out turbo couse stock wont last a few thousand of miles with that remap... i think i beter 2 take turbo from 2.5 or even 3.0 and then making a remap. biger turbo might make a bit longer for spooling up but when it does u'r gona like the resoults :D. best of luck m8 and report back how it did.
