Definately saving this video. All injectors are leaking on my 2009, plan to replace the seals o-rings and clean the tips as a first before replacing any. Autel should have a fuel prime feature because these cars have a tank pump and the high pressure pump. It is said that you should not crank the car like the old fashoned way, you should use the scanner to do the prime functions in the scanner.

Great help for me in replacing the #3 fuel injector on my 2011 VW Jetta 2.0 TDI

I'm wondering if there's some sort of common theme, I'm getting my #3 injector on my 2012 passat (ckra) replaced by Volkswagen as soon as the part comes in. What's the mileage on your jetta tdi? I'm around 130k

For other DIY people, VCDS is a much more affordable scan tool for VW/Audi. Best $200 you'll spend on a tool if you own a vw or audi. Also you want to bleed the fuel system using VCDS. That scan tool may have that adaptation. It's imperative you bleed the fuel system as the high pressure fuel pump can fail if ran dry and generally causes about $6-8k in damage.
@TestDontguess2 жыл бұрын
You must not understand how the diesel fuel system works the injector lines are after the HPFP no need to activate the low pressure pump cause none of the fuel feed lines have been disconnected. Injectors are bled by cracking the lines and turning it over so all the injectors are spitting fuel…. 🤦♂️🤦♂️ the HPFP isn’t going to get fed fuel unless the LPFP is feeding it…. The HPFP isn’t going to be pumping fuel unless the motor is turning over….
@MAKPowderCoating2 жыл бұрын
@@TestDontguess I am aware how the system works. However ANY time that fuel system is opened VW recommends running a fuel system bleed procedure in-order to prevent premature HPFP wear. When the HPFP fails it sends metal shards through the entire fuel system. They replace everything fuel related from the pump to the injectors, tank, lines, etc. These CP4 pumps are very delicate compared to the CP3.

Not necessarily. I used bailing twine looped around the injectors with a slop knot on the lower injector base side and a baler knot (a non-slip knot) on the top side leaving a loop up on top to clip a breaker bar or other tool through. Slip a breaker bar or a levering item through the upper loop and a deep well socket socket or the raised back potion of the cover to rest the breaker bar or tool upon and lift the injector out of it's seat by pulling upward on the twine. Just my 2 cents worth as my Master tech buddy gave me with the wrong VW puller this weekend...and I had to pull them myself. They are not too hard to lift upward, and some people can do it by hand.

11:20 those 2 nuts under the rotating plate dont require a specific torque spec do they? I was having problems with a ton of blowby going out of the rubber seals, was a bunch of soot all around the injectors and got bad where oil was also pushing out as well. unbolted those plates turned them counter clock wise, and made 1/2 turns tight to each injector. The nuts for the injectors weren't completely loose but loose enough for me to make the decision on tightening down that much.

The hp line that goes from the rail to the injector is 25nm. It's important not to over torque these. I use a 17mm combo wrench with a nut and bolt secured on the box end and then I put my 3/8 torque wrench to that. An off set crows foot will work as well. Take care not to touch the injector return stem as you tighten. Also you shouldn't Crack the injector lines on any hp common rail setup. The system makes 330bar (4800psi) at idle. It's dangerous and unnecessary. Some air bubbles won't hurt these injectors. They are stout. You must do the fuel priming procedure to rid of any potential air bubbles in the hp injection pump, especially on the stock cp4.1 pump.

@@keyboardheroism thanks for insight on this, I havent touched the fittings on the high pressure side dont feel the need to because they are not the ones leaking. Currently keep finding oil nesting on the top of the valve cover, I always have to take a rag and tuck it between the return fittings and cover to soak up the oil. Believed the issue is coming from the seals on the injector plates. Issue i have is i dont want to take the entire fuel system apart just to clean or replace the plate seals. Thats just far too much unnecessary work.
