Thank you so very much for posting this video. For three years, I went without heat in my 2000 Chevy Blazer, mainly because a major chain store mechanic told me that my heating problem was related to my blend doors, a costly repair of 800.+ dollars that I could not afford. I watched your video and located a back street certified mechanic who properly diagnosed the problem and viola, my vehicle has heat. As it turned out, there was nothing wrong with my blend doors. All my vehicle needed was a thermostat. I am a woman with limited mechanic skills, but your video gave me the confidence that I needed and saved me several hundred of dollars. Thank you! Thank you! Your friend in Pennsylvania. Keep posting, please.

I really appreciate how you describe the size of the sockets and tools you need. It helped me avoid stripping bolts. I am not a mechanic by no means but with your video I knocked it out.

This helps so much, Mark. My Blazer has been starting to run hotter than it should and this five dollar fix will stop thousands of dollars in damage later on. Again, thank you.

Just wanted to say like others, your level of detail, tips and being to the point gives us the confidence to do it ourselves. You make it look easy. Replying to all posts is a big plus. Thanks for taking the time. ('00 blazer, new radiator, runs hot fast, heat fades quickly and have seen water slow drip from the exhaust. Starting with therm replace first and coolant check)

Holy crap man.... I've been having overheating issues off and on for a couple of years on my 99 Blazer. I already had the coolant flushed once and was about to spend another $100 at jiffy lube then I found your video..... Bingo! Fixed it! Thanks so much man!

Green coolant instead of dex-cool? Oooohhhh I see, you like your seals to not go away! lol
@Jonnydeerhunter11 ай бұрын
Oh so you like chunks that clog up your Radiator and Heater core, Oh I see. That was a problem when they first came out with Dex-Cool that was quickly fixed. I've had over a dozen GM's and the only one I had issues with was a 2001 Silverado that someone put Green coolant into. You can't flush all the dexcool out and it causes a brown gum that causes clogs.

Thank you for this. I feel after my radiator overheated when they replaced that. They didn’t do or suggest the thermostat. Which in turn I’ve heard can affect my transmission fluids not properly heating as it should and can be “a” cause to why my Bravada wants to not shift properly when at median of temp gauge. So I wanna try this and see and go from there. Thanks great video 👌🏻and lotsa light. Other than another video I tried to watch that someone else made tho. 🤷🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️

The burp valve/toggle interferes with my thermostat housing. The guy at O’Reilly Auto Parts looked at all the thermostat options, and they all have the toggle valve to the side and it won’t let the housing seal against the gasket. 2003 Blazer. Do you know what’s up with that? What can I do?

I never mess with anything but the 2 bolts holding the thermostat housing. No need to remove all that other stuff, just asking for issues. Those bolts will snap very easily also. The 4.3 is very well known for snapping the bolts but it will seal with just 1 bolt. Been running mine for years with just 1 bolt in it.
