so excited for this!! I'm a girl and I LOVE the urban industrial style and there aren't enough videos for this AT ALL (at least I never find any). I'd love to watch more room tours and decor videos about this topic, do y'all know any good channels??
@deadlyNightshade7898 жыл бұрын
Anthony DelucV I already watched them right after I finished this video haha! I went over to your channel and dug through it until I found something room tour related. really enjoyed it, your loft is so cool!

It's it funny how gender is a social construction like that? How all design choices are for all people.Straight cis men can have pink lacy rooms and straight cis women can have individual hard dark rooms.

If you got a tad longer sidebars and added T connectors it'd be so dope to add a second "shelf" so you have two bars to hang stuff one. One right under the other. That rack looks great, I love it!

A little pro tip: To make your threaded connections more solid, you can rap the teflon thread or teflon tape around the "male" thread. It would be hidden inside elbow connectors so it would not destroy the look :)

Plywood. You can get 32-48 (depending on whether you desire 12 inch or 8 inch wide shelves) linear feet from one 4x8 sheet. Cost $25. Very solid. This design is sort of unstable. You can easily tip it over and get hurt. I would use a full 4 x 8 sheet of plywood. I would build two similar racks and attach them like a bridge. I would use 6 sets of rollers. This would be incredibly strong and very stable. You would gain two times the hanger space 16 Feet in a 4x8 foot area. This would be perfect in a loft area.

Super cute! Question though: I'm guessing you predrilled holes for the screws to go into the board? Or is there a work around that meant you didn't have to use a drill? Curious because I don't own a drill and would rather not buy one if i don't have to

I was thinking of searching for a tutorial for this type of clothing rack the other day. You made it look so easy and accessible to build this. Awesome DIY! Also just wondering where your top is from Kelsey?
@LifeLostSoul4 жыл бұрын
Tip: Find a resale store. Instead of paying $6 per pipe fittings they will be about .75¢ per fitting. You might be able to find some that have some more visual wear to them making it look a bit more industrial. Might be able to find your wood their too or your pipes. It's also better for the environment to buy second-hand. In the US Habitat for Humanity restore is a good place to check first. They are all over the country. There are probably also some more local places too.
@karenxu91538 жыл бұрын
I definitely want to try and make this! What were the dimensions of the wood and pipes?
@erybanks41828 жыл бұрын
I love this so much but where did you guys get the wood and pipes because I've been looking but can't find them. 🤔
@tohniaz8 жыл бұрын
Ery banks Home Depot or Rona would have all the pieces. Lowes as well. You'd need to go to both the wood and plumbing sections for the parts, then the hardware section for the wood stain and screws. 😊
@tazzy1918 жыл бұрын
LOLLL oh my gosh, watching you guys figure out how to screw on the pipes was hilarious! Ya'll are so cute! Gah!

@susanf46988 жыл бұрын
if you wanted to add a shelf, you wouldn't necessarily need more connectors because you could space them out with something other than pipe. Also, if connectors are very expensive, if your plank was thick enough, I bet you could drill a hole the size of the pipe and just glue it?
