Simple upgrades to the lamp would be to drill a hole with a drill bit intended for glass to make the cord come out the bottom and either attach the bowl and vase with glue or add that squishy drawer liner to the bowl to keep it from being glass on glass and so the bowl doesn’t fall off center so easily. Great DIYS! 100% making both myself!

You could just turn the vase upside down if you wanted the cord to come out the bottom... But you might need some kind of base though cause otherwise it would be much less stable (You'd also want to make sure you didn't spray paint the bottom of the vase so light could come through). I'd just be concerned that drilling into a vase would break it!

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE finding out about the specific carpet tape, glue, etc. I had no clue so that was a huge help, thanks! I have a jute rug I love, and red wine got spilled on it. Or maybe some foamy air dry clay around the top of the vase for a more snug fit…and or a circle of clay or hot glue inside the bowl that is smaller than the diameter of the vase. Since there wasn’t much light coming through the bowl anyway it shouldn’t be too visible
@zp5016

My thoughts to fix that were to either make a craft foam circle thats a bit bigger than circumference of the outside of the vase and glue it to the top to add some stability, or in sorry girls fashion... Hot glue a circle thats a bit bigger than the circumference of the vase 😂

So many of my favourite DIY KZbinrs/Ticktockers have morphed into a very same-same 'mature' style, often quite French Farmhouse without meaning to, lots of 'lets just paint our window trim black' (which is fine if that's your style, but there is SO MUCH of that content already out there). Love the lamp! As someone who actually lived through the 70s as a young adult, I don’t share Becky’s fondness for those colors, but her painting was so smooth and the light inside makes the orange more golden so I really like the way it looks. This lamp is so cute! Now that you’ve used it for a bit, does the vase get very hot? Are you concerned about the bowl blocking the heat from escaping? I want to make it, but I would love to know how it has worked out. I may try using corks around the edge to create a little space for the heat to escape. Keep the fab ideas coming, Becky!

I wondered how you were going to light up that mushroom without having to drill glass. Great job Becky!!!!

I was skeptical about the lamp because I've tried to paint glass before and it did NOT work but it looks amazing!!

I was thinking that you could make a couple of throw pillows to match the rug. That first square you showed, would match well

These all turned out so nice. LOVE the end result of the rug. A small thing to note about the lamp though, the heat buildup in the lamp will shorten the life of the LED bulb.

My only issue about the lamp is the power wire gets in between the glass bowl & vase having the lamp head askew, even if not that noticeable in the video, except in 17:29. It might have been better if they made a hole on the side near the base of the vase for the wire to pass thru. But aesthetically speaking they nailed it
