I can vouch for this EXACT method. I go to a woman every year for this. The steps in this video are exactly what she does. You MUST do each step. You have to wash and then dry and straighten and then reapply the cream and then wash again etc. You must follow the steps and not wash your hair for 3 days. Good video!

I get this done at the salon, I would also note that after you’ve completed the process to not wash your hair for about 3 days and not pull it up or put behind your ears to prevent any unwanted denting in your hair. Also try to stay indoors for those 3 days if your climate is humid, this will prevent any unwanted permanent frizzy strands. After the first 3 days it’s the most convenient and careless maintenance for someone who’s had to plan their schedule around hair wash, dry and straighten days.

Just washed out the neutralizer and my hair went from very curly to wavy left the relaxer on for 40 minutes. My hair feels great though, no damage! I did use Olaplex with it so I’m sure that helped. A bit bummed out about the waves but I’m planning on doing it again in a month or two 😊. Btw my roots are super straight, it’s mid shaft where it’s wavy and then my ends are straight. Edit: HOLY COW MY HAIR BLOW DRIED AND STRAIGHTENED IN 15 MINUTES AND ITS CRAZY SOFT

Hi Crystal, I'm back after watching this and then the Q and A video you did, which were great. To help you out on your next video, the neutralizer is the necessary chemical that stops the first chemical reaction you used to straighten it. Rinsing alone only removes most of the first chemical so the second step of neutralizing is critical to avoid the process continuing on therefore burning your hair off. I would add that into the video, if possible, because many young people or inexperienced people may not know how important that step is and avoid spending the money on that item and lose mass amounts of hair or burned skin. I'm not criticizing you at all, your videos are really helpful and fun. I just wanted to help you out with the information. 😊

Grand total in USD is currently (Nov 2020) $115.21 with the tax and shipping from Amazon using the normal grade straightener. Verses the usual $200-300 range salon prices. Yes, I think so!! LOL If you decide to do this, and you want a hair cut too. Then do this first, that way if any ends get burnt a little then they get cut off.

Hi! I’m really considering doing this, but I bleached my hair about 2 years ago (it absolutely killed my hair/curls); most of the hair that was bleached is gone/has been slowly cut off over time but will this affect the ends that are still there? And have you ever dyed your hair before or think it would effect dyed hair the same way as bleached? Sorry for all the questions, just super tired of having to straighten my hair weekly. ♡︎

I'm wondering about this as well. I'm blonde and had highlights put in my hair a little less than a year ago, so it's hard for me to tell if they've grown out. If they're at the ends I think you should be fine, you can always cut the ends off if they get damaged in the process.

Update: Sorry for the delay in providing an update. After the three days my hair is mostly straight, not pin straight when it dries naturally but it felt great, soft and I can wear it down right off the shower or straighten it in less than 15 minutes. It is so easy to do my hair now every time. Also I use my flat iron a lot less so my hair is loving the break away from putting heat on it often. I do recommend getting a leave in conditioner. I seldom use conditioner in the shower anymore, leave in conditioner allows me to wear my hair down and protects it if I decide to flat iron it after it is dry. Another update: I did the treatment again on my roots after 4 months. So worth it. My hair growing nicely and is so easy to manage it without my natural super tight curls.

There is a thing we do in Brazil for that: you wrap your hair around your head, pinning it in place with bobby pins, and put a fabric on top, we call it "Toca" (I think it's the same in other places in Latin America)

Did you have any issues with the evenness of your treatment due to self application? Do you rinse the section that you first applied the treatment to first and then the rest slightly later, or do you rinse all at once? Just ordered the Liscio treatment and am preparing to do it myself in the coming weeks. Thank you so much for your video!

My pleasure!! Let me know how you like it! But as far as evenness, I didn’t have any issues. I rinsed it all at once as well. As the treatment sits on your hair, you’ll be able to see the change in your hair texture so that will also help you notice if both sides are even.

This may be a silly question, I am curious once your hair is straight less say for 3 mos or longer how often do you need to do a touch up and if you do not do a touch up will your curls come back?

this video helped a lot, tbh i've always looked better with straight hair and could manage it better compared to my natural hair now (i'm really lazy too), and i'm considering doing this, a keratin treatment, or heat-training my hair :) also can i ask does it burn at all when you apply it?

Hi. I just gave myself the perm, but I think I should have used the normal formula instead of mild. I was trying to be cautious when selecting the mild because I gave myself a keratin treatment about 2-3 months prior and I color my hair to cover gray, so I just figured that my hair wouldn't be strong enough to handle the normal. I also have a little heat damage from the keratin treatments. My hair still looks good because I'm naturally a 3b-3c, the treatment basically relaxed my curl & my hair looks & feels more shiny & soft. But I was hoping for bone straight. When it's time to re-do my roots, do you think I should use normal this next time? And maybe apply some to some of the more stubborn areas of my hair?? What do you think?? Anyone?? lol 😅
@xcrystallynn
@xcrystallynn 3 жыл бұрын
Hii! and yess! You hit the nail on the head. Try normal when it’s time to do your roots and reapply the parts that are a little more stubborn. Just be sure to keep an eye out on how your reacts to the stronger treatment. But, I believe you should be fine! Let me know if you end up getting the results you were looking for :)

Can I bleach and dye my hair when/before/after I used the straightening perm?
@xcrystallynn
@xcrystallynn 3 жыл бұрын
I definitely would not recommend bleaching your hair 6 months before or after you do this treatment because of the excess damage it might cause. But, I dyed my hair about 3 months after this treatment and my hair felt fine so dying might be alright for you as well. Bleaching is just such a harsh chemical, I would be careful

My hair is naturally kinda wavy and curly and very frizzy when I dry it. So if I do this, how long will it last and can I ever get my curls back if I want to?
@xcrystallynn
@xcrystallynn 3 жыл бұрын
It’s pretty much permanent but at about 6 months your hair might start to get a little wavy, at least mine did. However, unfortunately, in order to get your curls back you’d have to cut the hair that you applied the treatment to.

How can I determine which strength would work best for me? I have virgin hair. It grows upright. Basically, it's a jewfro. It's very coarse and thick. I'm scared that the strong may burn my hair off. But I'm also scared that the normal may not do much for me. Pls help :(
@xcrystallynn
@xcrystallynn 3 жыл бұрын
Mm, I’m not sure how to determine what strength you need just based by description. But! If you have curly hair similar to mine, you should be good with the “normal” level. Try it for the same amount of time I did (30 min) and see how your hair reacts to it! (Do a strand test) Let me know your progress!

Can I get my hair dyed and bleached if I do this? I see sites that say you can but you have to wait at least a month also how do you sleep if you can't crease your hair ? Because I roll around in my sleep 😅 and I usually put my hair in a bonnet at night.
@xcrystallynn
@xcrystallynn 3 жыл бұрын
I died my hair about 2 months after I did the process BUT I’m not sure about the bleaching 🥴 I would just really focus on giving your hair moisture and cutting off any dead ends that the bleaching might do. I don’t usually wear anything on my hair at night bc I sleep like a statue now lmao but a bonnet would work perfectly!
