I can vouch for this EXACT method. I go to a woman every year for this. The steps in this video are exactly what she does. You MUST do each step. You have to wash and then dry and straighten and then reapply the cream and then wash again etc. You must follow the steps and not wash your hair for 3 days. Good video!

I get this done at the salon, I would also note that after you’ve completed the process to not wash your hair for about 3 days and not pull it up or put behind your ears to prevent any unwanted denting in your hair. Also try to stay indoors for those 3 days if your climate is humid, this will prevent any unwanted permanent frizzy strands. After the first 3 days it’s the most convenient and careless maintenance for someone who’s had to plan their schedule around hair wash, dry and straighten days.

A bit bummed out about the waves but I’m planning on doing it again in a month or two 😊. Btw my roots are super straight, it’s mid shaft where it’s wavy and then my ends are straight. Hi Crystal, I'm back after watching this and then the Q and A video you did, which were great. To help you out on your next video, the neutralizer is the necessary chemical that stops the first chemical reaction you used to straighten it. Rinsing alone only removes most of the first chemical so the second step of neutralizing is critical to avoid the process continuing on therefore burning your hair off. I would add that into the video, if possible, because many young people or inexperienced people may not know how important that step is and avoid spending the money on that item and lose mass amounts of hair or burned skin. I'm not criticizing you at all, your videos are really helpful and fun. I just wanted to help you out with the information. 😊

I just dared to do this today. Got all the products; straightening cream, neutralizer, and hair treatment. My hair feels soft but I can definitely feel how strong the chemicals were on my hair. It was my very first time doing this process myself (not the first time having it done) and it is quite time consuming. I will write an update after 3 days of waiting for the hair to do its thing. I used gloves, old shirt and old towels. Thank you for sharing your experience!

Update: Sorry for the delay in providing an update. After the three days my hair is mostly straight, not pin straight when it dries naturally but it felt great, soft and I can wear it down right off the shower or straighten it in less than 15 minutes. It is so easy to do my hair now every time. Also I use my flat iron a lot less so my hair is loving the break away from putting heat on it often. I do recommend getting a leave in conditioner. I seldom use conditioner in the shower anymore, leave in conditioner allows me to wear my hair down and protects it if I decide to flat iron it after it is dry. Another update: I did the treatment again on my roots after 4 months. So worth it. My hair growing nicely and is so easy to manage it without my natural super tight curls.

Hi. I just gave myself the perm, but I think I should have used the normal formula instead of mild. I was trying to be cautious when selecting the mild because I gave myself a keratin treatment about 2-3 months prior and I color my hair to cover gray, so I just figured that my hair wouldn't be strong enough to handle the normal. I also have a little heat damage from the keratin treatments. My hair still looks good because I'm naturally a 3b-3c, the treatment basically relaxed my curl & my hair looks & feels more shiny & soft. But I was hoping for bone straight. When it's time to re-do my roots, do you think I should use normal this next time? And maybe apply some to some of the more stubborn areas of my hair?? What do you think?? Anyone?? lol 😅
@xcrystallynn4 жыл бұрын
Hii! and yess! You hit the nail on the head. Try normal when it’s time to do your roots and reapply the parts that are a little more stubborn. Just be sure to keep an eye out on how your reacts to the stronger treatment. But, I believe you should be fine! Let me know if you end up getting the results you were looking for :)

Did you have any issues with the evenness of your treatment due to self application? Do you rinse the section that you first applied the treatment to first and then the rest slightly later, or do you rinse all at once? Just ordered the Liscio treatment and am preparing to do it myself in the coming weeks. Thank you so much for your video!

My pleasure!! Let me know how you like it! But as far as evenness, I didn’t have any issues. I rinsed it all at once as well. As the treatment sits on your hair, you’ll be able to see the change in your hair texture so that will also help you notice if both sides are even.

Do I have to keep step 1 wet for the full 15-30 minutes or only to apply step 1? After I applied step 1 it was drying so wasn’t sure.

One problem I have with straightening methods is that you have to keep your hair intact for 72 hours, but Usually when I sleep, the hair straightening wears off. I guess I have to pull an all nighter if I want to get straight hair.
@xcrystallynn2 жыл бұрын
lol don’t worry, that happens to me sometimes as well! Maybe try buying a bandana. Also, it’s okay if it gets a little messed up as long as when you wake up, you straighten it again. Hope this helps! x

Do you know if you can curl your hair with larger curls for one night if you wanted to or does it just go straight even if you tried?
@xcrystallynn6 ай бұрын
No your hair will still hold a curl!

When you do this procedure is it like bleach? Sorry didn’t watch it all, but like is the chemical u apply not supposed to touch their hair that’s already straightened chemically or it will break off?
