Nice setup. Since it's necessary to drill a hole in the pvc to stop it from rotating I think I will sand down the pvc enough that it rotates in the square tubing to stow the floats in an up position and secure with a pin instead of bolt & nut. Thank you for the detailed explanation of a simple and inexpensive outrigger.

DIY IS ALWAYS TRIAL AND ERROR. Great job, I used plastic electrical conduit pvc and crab floats. 4 revisions and I love them,up to paddle,down to stand or use the real tree $14 fold up seat I modified to sit higher. Still very stable either way😊. Yakin bout Yakin.

Mike Palacios cool square tubing is about 17.99 for a 3ft piece. I believe I bought a 1 inch and a quarter for one tube and an 1 inch for the second. let me know how that works out for you

Mike Palacios I'm in California. I usually fish lakes in my area. rivers are to high right now to fish

The design is nice but it looks like you used 3/4" pvc. Not good. Use 1". 3/4" is not as strong & has a thinner side wall which means with a good tilt it's eventually going to break.

Do you have a video of it in the water? It would be awesome to check it out in action.

What was the measurement from the bar to the water?
@moses_31097 жыл бұрын
Not sure but I weigh about 150 pounds so your weight may differ from mines could sit lower or higher in the water.
