DIY Linear Actuator Assembly Part 1

Assembly of a DIY linear actuator for my 6DOF motion platform. Further information can be found at: 6dof.my.primusnetz.de/
In the next video i will show the installation of the position feedback sensor and the installation into the platform. This new actuator is going to replace a older one.

What is the white bungee cord for?

These cords provide some force to counter the gravity and help to balance the weight the actuator needs to work with. Since these will be holding weight of the structure plus the person sitting in it, it would be too difficult for the actuator to lift the weight and also to provide enough braking force when moving down, without the help of the bungee string. This way, when you select correct bungee cords, you have almost equal resistance in the upward and downward movement of the actuator...
