I had no idea what lotion bars actually were before this video even though I'd heard of them so this particular video was extra exciting for me.

You can always use some of the smaller silicone molds as well and if you sell them they can be travel bars and you can put 3 in a bag or something along that line and if you add a little bit of arrowroot it could de-grease them a little bit. I love the smell of the beeswax and cocoa butter, those are especially nice when you don't want to over powered with fragrance. Good for you, trying new things!! (I just noticed someone else mentioned arrowroot, too!) As far as using your Pyrex, you can put a towel into a larger pan and add water then put the bowl in there, you can use the lid to a canning jar as well and set the bowl on that. Those were my go to's before I got a double boiler. Go to a thrift store and look for one, maybe yard sales or flea markets, you can find them really cheap.

Good morning Shonna! Yes, you can use the Pyrex in a double boiler. Loved that you stamped them. If you have arrowroot powder, try adding just a little bit, it will make it less greasy. Nice video, enjoyed my morning coffee with you today Shonna! Have a great one 💖

Great job! You can use your Pyrex in pot/sauce pan with water. I put water in the pan and start the heat, add the beeswax and let that melt a bit past half way then add whatever hard butter I have chosen. Melt that to almost all melted down, then I add my liquid oils, plus for me I add about a quarter to half a teaspoon of lanolin to it. I love how it feels. I also use either arrowroot, rose powder or hibiscus powder, I usually just use the arrowroot and one of the flower powders. I hope I made sense😊. The cupcake liners are a great idea. Going try that next time I do a batch!

Good job! It helps to melt the beeswax first, then add the Cocoa butter then take off the heat and add the coconut oil. Allow to cool IF adding fragrance or essential oils. Add that and pour. You can leave out overnight or place in the fridge like you did. The speckles are most likely pollen and honey. Organic, unfiltered, non bleached beeswax always contains some honey.

Those came out really well! I only make them in winter so they don't melt in shipment...it's a small window of time for me. :) If I make them flat, I add a dried rosebud or a little something on top to dress them up. I also pour the melted oils in twist-up deodorant containers for no mess application. Have a great day & hugs to the furry ones!!

Way to go expanding your product line! I make my own lotion, but I've never tried lotion bars: I may try it. Yes, you can use your pyrex measuring bowl as a double boiler, but you should place it on a rack of some sort in the boiling water to it doesn't sit directly on the bottom of the boiling pot. Thanks for sharing this video and congratulations.

You can definitely put your Pyrex in hot water to make a double boiler. I would suggest for extra safety to put a ring( that kind of comes with the Mason jar) and set it on top so it's not touching the actual bottom of the pan. Thank you so much for sharing Shonna I'm a give this recipe a try.

Hi Shonna, You most certainly use pyrex glass in a pan of boiling water and to stop the crazy boiling put a piece of towel or a piece of silicone under your glass and it wouldn't move at all. These look fabulous Shonna as it seems lots of people make them in America but not in my opinion seen as often in Australia. A little arrowroot into your mix will cut down your greasiness, I've seen other people put cornflour or arrowroot in with the fragrance and mix it in. The speckles are probably your beautiful fresh from the bee wax. I made my message in a bottle soaps last night so will upload to Instagram, I'm really happy with them and they are fragranced with Nurture Soap Awaken which is so citrus fresh. Have a wonderful weekend Shonna, Aaron and Boris xx

Hi, Shonna! You did a great job on those lotion bars! Pyrex would be okay with a pan that you can sit inside of it. With the water in the bottom of the pan. You can place a disk of some kind on the inside of the pan to keep the pyrex from touching the bottom of the pan. it works out great! Enjoy! ML!

Great vid as always Shonna! Although, I did miss seeing that rascal pup of yours. He's so dang cute! I was also going to suggest arrowroot powder but others beat me to it. I buy mine at the grocery store so it shouldn't be something you need to buy off of Amazon and it's inexpensive as well. Instead of making lotion bars, I made whipped body butter. I LOVE IT! You should try your hand at that too, I bet it would turn out amazing!

Hi Shonna :) Yes you can melt those in a double boiler, that's how I do it because I don't have a place to plug in a microwave :) The glass gets hot and you have to be careful, but it definitely works just fine. Also, the spots on the bottom are probably from the beeswax, sometimes fresh and raw beeswax contains some organic material :) Are those Chessex dice on the top shelf?
@NezumiSoaps2 жыл бұрын
Hey Laura 💕 You are so funny and sweet looking at my shelf. They are Chessex Dice, yes. Now, with you recognizing magic cards and dice, do you play MTG or DND or anything else of that sort?
@CabbagePatchSoap2 жыл бұрын
@@NezumiSoaps Hi Shonna :) Yes I used to play MTG and D&D. Both are really fun although I was never very good at MTG. I was amused by the cards that let me summon hoards of 1/1 creatures. The best moment was when they all died because I used candy as counters hehe. Perhaps my focus should have been on winning the game instead 🤣 I have a collection of dice still and might still have one of my decks, it's been a long time. What tabletop games do you and your husband play?
@NezumiSoaps2 жыл бұрын
@@CabbagePatchSoap I actually haven't played MTG for probably 5 years. It kind of comes and goes in waves for me. Plus, I'm like you and didn't really focus on winning. I am all about COLLECTING! lol. I love animal cards and plant cards. I am trying to get my hands on every Rat card. I just learned the new magic set coming out is a new Kamigawa set. The original Kamigawa set came out in 2004. They have several rat creatures and that is when I learned about the word "Nezumi" Currently my husband and I are in a DND spinoff campaign with some friends that is set in the real world and in modern times. It's really fun. I think I kinda like it more than regular DND.
@CabbagePatchSoap2 жыл бұрын
@@NezumiSoaps Yes! The collecting is out of hand haha. I ran out of places to store them lol. I loved the rat cards, the first ones I discovered were the plague rats, so after that I made a rat deck, then later an angel deck. I haven't played any modern times D&D games, but it sounds fun. Where does it take place?
@NezumiSoaps2 жыл бұрын
Love those plague rats, lol. The campaign is based anywhere in the world the writer wants it to be and it takes place between 1930's-today. It is the Delta Green RPG but it's the same idea as DND.

Love your lotion bars so much! Here is something I do. I have very dry hands so I take two disposable gloves and cut off the tips. Take the lotion bar and rub it on the back of your hands. Put on the gloves and allow it to absorb. With your fingers and thumbs free you can still use your computer or cell. Does it make any sense? It works great for my hands. Take care my wonderful friend. 💖

Very nice! I have a great recipe for these, however my customers aren't really in the market for them they prefer my liquid lotion. The little Speckles on the bottom are because that was purely natural like right from somebody's bee Farm whatever they're from the beeswax. I have some beeswax that I got last year at the honey Festival when I did my show there, and it smells like nothing but honey because it's all natural straight from bees you know Farms, and it has those speckles in it. But I couldn't pass it up 7 lb for $40 there was no way I could pass that up LOL By the way, when you first on molded the first one I started giggling because it looked like a white chocolate Hershey's cup! Another thing you can do to keep these less greasy.. and this is just me not everybody agrees with my opinion I don't expect you to.. but never use coconut oil in a lotion bar or a lotion. Coconut oil in and of itself is very very greasy. Just my unsolicited opinion that's all. 🥰💙💙💙
