When I was a young lad (1990s) I was in a Tech Core class. They had me build a working one cylinder engine as one of the projects. I'll never forget the thrill of achieving combustion and throttling up an engine I assembled with my own hands! This project strongly reminds me of that memory, minus the internal combustion part.

I used to never get my Dad's obsession with doing everything himself as a kid. He had the money to pay people, but he always did it all himself. Computers, electrical work, carpentry, everything he could build without a license, he did. Now as I become my own man I get it. That sense of accomplishment is amazing

The build quality looks nice! But c'mon, I'm sure higher RPMs are needed for even an educational model :D

Thats a nifty kit! But $299?!?!?! You can get little working sterling engines or flame eater engines for about $50 to $125 bucks that legitimately run. Seems very pricey for just a slow spinning model. You could take an old briggs horizontal crank and do alittle dremeling or cutting with an angle grinder and achieve something similar with an electric drill motor and some led lights. Its a really kool kit no doubt but i just couldn't spend that much on something machined with casting imperfections and made out of Chinesium pot metal. If it were much cheaper it would be a kool kit! Here's a nifty kit that is only 60 something bucks and it's a working flame eater engine! I put the link in my replies 👇👇

Ive made that same model engine and got it to 7000 rpm with an electric motor
@GenericWoodworking3 жыл бұрын
Nice! Yeah, that thing is way overbuilt for the low rpm it was designed to handle.

Very cool! I think if you want to grow you have to make bigger and badder things. A lot of the higher viewed content you have is of something big and not normally Seen. I still enjoy watching these regardless. I just would like to see more uploads

So I have a wooden safe by UGEARS and I’m it sure how to lubricate it again after it’s put together, is dripping a tiny candle wax in the gears a terrible idea?
