I have been making and using that same recipe for years. It works great and you can make it as thick or thin as you want. Plus if you have extra greasy clothes, you can add dish soap to the mixture, I have added up to half of a cup of dish soap to a 5 gallon bucket when making it, and it work marvelous for all your greasy things like shop rags after working on the car and what not. *For those that do not know. Fels-Napitha and Zoat Soap are found in the detergent isle at walmart, and you can also get castile soap at walmart in the soap isle. If you are allergic to scented stuff, use the castile soap (note: castile soap is more expensive), the Fels-Napitha and Zoat Soap are scented. If you are making a ton at a time, a 5 gallon bucket works great and mix it with a paint mixer attached to a power drill. **Something Extra - If you are trying to cut back on your budget or just generally like knowing what is in what you use, you can also make your own fabric sheets for the dryer, and they are reusable. 1) Get a small plastic bucket, I used a coffee creamer bucket. 2) Mix white distilled vinegar and hot water in your bucket in a 1 to 1 ratio. 3) Cut up some old clean towels or rags into squares that will fit into your bucket, (you can even use old socks, lol). 4) Put the cloths in the bucket to lightly dampen the cloths. 5) Dump out any excess liquid. ***You DO NOT want to add sopping wet stuff to your dryer. Lightly damp is what you want, as if you just took clothes out of the washer, no more though. 6) Use one sheet at a time, and viola. You can also add your own scents to the mixture if you are into having your clothes smell like flowers or mountains or whatever you want. Enjoy!

I think your calculations are off - total ingredients is 13 cup and you use 174 cup each time - thats only 52 washes

do you ever put anything in it to make it scented? Essential oils maybe?
@MommyMoneyMatters7 жыл бұрын
Yes, you can use essential oils to make it scented. The Castile Soap I used was already scented, so I did not add any extra to the mix. :)

Very dilute. Like washing with plain water. Avoid!
