I just came across this video this was a great tutorial! I really want to get a P71 but don’t know much about the common problems it has. Hardly any videos of that. That’s something I would definitely want to learn before making a purchase.. anyways keep posting!

@@Mrnormalsense Thanks, Much appreciated! The P71 is a great platform that is essentially very bullet proof with a few common issues. The intake manifold will crack because it is plastic, but that’s a pretty easy fix. Also the blend door actuator can be problematic and that can be a little difficult to fix as much of the dash needs to be removed. The main thing I would be cautious of is getting one that was used heavily in police duty with higher miles higher idle time and not maintained well. I have come across those. If you find one like mine, that was a govt official vehicle, you should be in good shape. I have my eye on another one that is like that in Kentucky at the moment. It has some rust but is well maintained and has under 100k mileage. You can find them on govdeals and other auction sites. The other good thing about this platform is that parts are readily available and cheap. The car is pretty easy to work on. Ford did a great job of designing the Crown Victoria to withstand a lot of punishment and abuse so if you can find one where maintenance has been done routinely, you should have a very reliable car.

@@Mrnormalsense Thanks for the Sub! For sure check out govdeals.com and publicsurplus.com. I do a lot of detail content but I’m just a car guy at heart. The Crown Vic has been a great subject because there is a huge following and they are really easy to maintain. For this specific car, I’m on video 11 and I probably have close to that left to go. So all in all, probably around 20 videos on this car. Your question has given me an idea to cover maybe the problems you might have owning one. Although there are not many, the idea about covering the points in a video and what to look for if you are going to pick one up makes a lot of sense.
