Caulking tips. #1-- get an expensive caulking gun. You wont regret it. #2-- cut the caulking tip to match the gap being filled. Small gaps are easier if you cut the tip clear out at the end and work your way back. #3-- load the caulk tube. Slide the rod against the tube. Squeeze trigger til caulk appears. Hit the release button. Now with the release button pushed squeeze the handle all the way back. Hold it there and release the release button. Now,,, only allow the handle to release about 1/4 to 1/3 of the way out then squeeze again slowly. This gives you 100% more control over the gun AND the caulking flow. Hope this helps!!

Hey Travis. When caulking a right angle joint/gap I lay down the caulk in the corner, use my finger to force it into the gap and then use a 6 inch metal (stainless steel) ruler to finish off, cleaning the ruler with a wet rag as you go. Perfect caulk lines every time 👍

A quick tip for patching small holes in drywall/sheetrock. Save yourself some time and elbow grease. Just grab a hammer, make a quick hit/dimple at each of the holes left by the clips etc. Then apply mud. When dry, sand, paint and you're done. Much better result with less work.
@daveparker8393 жыл бұрын
I’ve HEARD of this before, but I don’t follow. Aren’t you making a bigger hole to fill with the hammer? Would you mind elaborating?
@tedkowalik29343 жыл бұрын
Just put a shallow dimple where the nail or screw hole is. It's quicker then sanding the paper that's sticking out when you remove the screw erc

Ugh, all the houses in Florida had those wire racks. When I bought my house, back in Oklahoma, all the shelving in the new construction house, were wood. (2007) I was a network administrator for a company that did commercial and residential homes (Royal Pro Builders/Royal Concrete Concepts) and they did those cheap wire shelves in all the houses.

If its in close proximity to the stove you might add a small spice rack to the back of the doors above the counter top. Looks like you have the room in depth. I did this at one of our homes and it was great. Had a single door pantry. Cleared up a cabinet as well to use for other things. Next one I did will have a flat panel with hooks for measuring cups to hang. I need to do this at our current place and it would help use up some scrap wood. I made the last one with curb find ikea bed slats (I had to half lap glue two together to get the length I needed for the whole door). It was a fun free upcycle type project.

Nice! My OCD wants those cabinets under the butcher block spaced more evenly... I’m sure you have a reason for the funky spacing, as I think your OCD must have been bugging you about it too... We remodeled our walk-in pantry with unistrut and 3/4” plywood. My husband knows I change my mind and reorganize the pantry too often to lock into a shelf height. It has a nice combination of homey-wood and industrial look to it. Those shelves don’t even think about sagging under any of the weight we’ve piled on them. We didn’t take the extra steps of repainting the walls, but should have. I foresee us doing that one day soon - when the pantry isn’t so full, lol!

Since you asked for comments, I have 2. One, nice to know there is someone else who can't do caulking! I hate it! Two, I think I would have pushed the two cabinets together and off to one side to create a storage space beside it. With the 2 cabinets in the middle with space between, you are wasting valuable storage space for something vertical. Nice video!

I really hope you plug those holes in the wall behind the cabinets because I’m sure your wife is like mine and hates spiders. Those holes look like perfect “doorways” for spiders to get in. Or a draft of some kind. Still jealous about the pantry. Good work.

I hate those big box store wire shelving racks with a passion. I redid all of the closets in my home with Elfa shelving from The Container Store. Fantastic looking product, extremely heavy-duty yet very attractive and rapidly installed and removed cleanly if needed. Their designers come up with a custom package to meet your needs and if they change they’re easily modified. Expensive but unlike other options you have the ability to take it with you if you move. I believe they will last several lifetimes too. Wife acceptance factor very high.
