Just a hint, use seam sealer on the underside and inside and paint over it. That's what the factory did and it will save you time. Great videos, You got a new sub.

Yea and I think the body filler will tend to wick water behind it and start a lot of rust.

I’ve been using washers and dryers for fixing body panels, bed frames too for other stuff, my friends call me cheap and crazy but they want me to do it to their cars too, so who’s wrong? Best video in my opinion I seen

I love how you get it done, but here is a tip to make it even better: After knocking loose the rust and hitting it with the wire wheel, spray it down with "Concrete & Metal Prep" by Klean strip available at HD and Lowe's. It's cheap, does a great job at eating and converting the rust, etches the shiny metal, and leaves a protective coating that helps paint stick.

to be definitively efficient against rust, you should put grease everywhere. grease is the only thing very efficient. put grease between metal and carpet, inside door, behind metallic bumper, under the vehicle, behind the repairs you can make (everywhere inside the body, cavities - hidden erea - instead of using paint), hollow areas (necessarily hidden, so no need to be aesthetic). For rear wings unreachable with a paintbrush, use an extender and poor old oil everywhere each year.Handyman Experience - 35 years. From france

You have awesome skiils! It's hard to tell if you're removing all the rust. Any rust remaining can cause future rust to grow. I've heard using a rust encapsulator can minimize rust from resurfacing. I'd be interested in other comments. Btw, love the idea of repurposing washer/dryer metal.

After the car is all done I will be rust proofing oil on everything, that prevents it from ever rusting more and any rust from spreading

Hello, Ive got a question about a car im working on. Its 1971 spitfire and the exhaust valve is stuck open. I was messing with it to free it up and accidentally knocked the retainers off the top of the valve. Think i need to pull the head ?

Great video. You can also go to the metal dealers and get the scrap pile sheet metal by the pound price very cheap. That’s what I’ve done for the last two cars I fixed. A chunk of angle iron (aka old bed frame) is great for bending too.
