You can do 2 or 3 bags....and a mixing board to dump stucco on....its alot easier and goes pretty quick....since you have quite a bit of stucco to do it would be beneficial.....if only small patch no necessary I would hit paper first to bring it flush to wall than hit everything.....thats quite a bit of work for 1 dude so props for tackling it solo

That whole patch is going to show. I've been plastering professionally for 18 years you need to feather the joints into the existing stucco with a wet float but not bad for a beginner

Dumb question? Why 2 coats? Is it necessary
@HandyGuy20167 ай бұрын
It's a lot like drywall mudd, the second coat is like the finish coat that covers the blemishes and gives it a finished look.
@kiefercourchene61093 ай бұрын
@HandyGuy2016 It depends on the finish that you're putting over to office.It's a 1960 or a critic.Finish good depending on why they're doing double coat

I wouldn't chance it personally, but read the instructions carefully and decide for yourself.

Can someone tell me, is a base coat strong enough on its own for the outdoors? Or does it have to be covered with a finish coat. I have a small project I'm working on, I used a base coat it cover a cement structure, not a wall per say, but it's already so heavy and thick I don't want to apply another coat if I don't have to...

HI HandyGuy 2016. I've got a question pertaining to a previously, poorly done, stucco finish? Can a person stucco over the poorly designed stucco and previously painted surface? My son's house has stucco but he and his wife are not happy with the results. They would like to stucco over that last coating. The house was flipped and they bought it a couple of years ago. What are the steps to re stucco a house that has stucco? Does the surface need to be sealed? The final texture is a very smooth one.
@rigobertomendoza72484 жыл бұрын
Hi, hope this answer doesn't come to late since he didn't answer your question, step one you would need to power wash the whole thing to get as much of the poorly installed stucco off next you need to get concret bonding agent apply this with a brush or a roller let it dry then when is dry you can do the recolor on the property, lots of materials brands out there for recolors, is a difficult process you may want to hire someone with experience on stucco if you never did this before.
