How would you over-winter a system like this?

Great idea, once the plants settle I think it will work really well 😉

It’s been a year. How’s the filter going?

We moved and ended up tearing that filter down. I am currently working a 900 gal out door pond. Thank you for watching.

Hey brotha , great video , is there anyway you can list everything you made this with?
@Project_Turtle2 жыл бұрын
If you pause the video where I show my filter plans. It lists what substrate I used. I used a 2 inch uniseal (amazon). and a 1 inch bulkhead faucet for the drain. Good luck :) You'll also need a drill and a hold saw kit.

Thanks for the cool video.....please know that I don't hand out unwarranted comments! Really cool.... anyways how much did the pump cost you? Just curious...thanks again bro🤜🤛

I do a lot research and find auctions on ebay or fb market place. The pump i was using is from a laguna 3 in 1 filter system 600 gal version. I think I bought is used for like 75$ roughly.

@@Project_Turtle hey bro I was wondering ....if you could recommend a low maintenance ....really hardy turtle for a beginner... it'll be my first time getting one and I'm thinking on putting it in a kiddie pool pond that I have shaded out....I live in Phoenix AZ.... yesterday was 106° and we haven't even hit June yet!!! So basically what ever I get will have to be something really hardy.... Also....if I don't put chemicals in the kiddie pool is the manure of turtles good for the garden/ compost pile🤔🤔🤔 Thank you for any tips or ideas....hope you have a great day! 🛐✝️🌟🐣🧁🐸🦊🐰🐴🦧🐧🌵

@@davidschmidt270 I suggest talking to local breeders in AZ. I think my buddy Cameron exotics is from AZ. Good luck.

Kimchi.....I love kimchi..... The Korean food.....not your dog🤭🤭🤭 On a serious note though....I was wondering....what if I did the same thing but scooped the water with an empty milk jug onto the top of it....I would like to create a big filter with basically everything you have but with some live plants for additional filtration....my concern is if I was to get a pump that would force that much water up through sand and everything it would probably have to pretty strong and pretty pricey as well...even the cheapy pumps at home Depot are expensive (☹️) ...any thoughts or tips are appreciated thanks 😉

Not sure about the milk jug idea but it might be possible if you get a one way valve/connection but I wouldn't use sand as a filter media. Also I have never used a one way valve on a filtration system.

@@Project_Turtle what's a one way valve??....oh just a pump that pushes water straight one way?? I'm a total newb at all this....thanks for your help and response
@Project_Turtle2 жыл бұрын
@@davidschmidt270 its a valve that only allows the water to flow one way. Its doesn't allow water to ho backwards.
