I believe the lanyards you show and break are for hand holding and not attaching it to something if it happens it falls. The hand lanyards I believe are designed to break away to prevent injury in case in gets caught on something .

I use paracord and heat shrink over the binding. You can get the paracord in a variety of colours.

Codename Hannibal search for diy gopro tether. There's loads of how to videos on how to make them. I have different colours for different length tethers. Basically make a loop and using some strong thread sew the loop end together. Slide over the heatshrink and heat up. Protects the join and looks good too. You can also crimp those electrical washers and place them inbetween the clamp and clamp screw! ;)

One other thing, after you've cut the paracord use a lighter or similar to melt the end fibres to stop them fraying.

What about regular non session gopros?
@kylemartin1017 жыл бұрын
+El Profe the HERO5 & HERO6 frames has a small cut out in the bottom where the hinge is. It is about the same size on on the session and works great to add a securing loop.

Had 1 break on me last week. Definitely, going to look into that Lash-it. Great video.

+James Ebenger I guess it dose happen. Hope you did not lose the camea. If you don’t want to get a hole roll of lash it pop into or call a local Sailing or boating shop and see if that have something like it they will sell you by the foot

Kyle Martin Tech "GoPro Tips and Tricks" Did lose my camera. I heard the suction mount hit my truck and then nothing. Found my GoPro against the curb. Good idea about calling a boat shop for a smaller amount.

For you who might not want to use this rope you can get different diameter paracord from paracordplanet.com 550lbs or others.

+Codename Hannibal oh nice. Just make sure you get the thin stuff. The paracord I have is too thick

well, at some point SOMEWHERE it has to break. If not the lanyard, your dyneema cord will rip the plastic case....
@kylemartin1017 жыл бұрын
+smitthone I completely agree, if you look at the shot where I thread the loop into the case you can see the stainless pin in the plastic. I would expect this will be the new point of failure, however I expect it will hold more then a "cheap" camera strap like the ones I brake in this video. There will alway be a point of failure and in some cases insuring the failure point is a cheap easily replaceable part instead of an expense camea case would make sence. The question really is it the differents of loosing your camera or not.
