Tomorrow, I want to make one. With a fishing line, hooks and matches inside, it could be really helpful if you stranded somewhere or you got lost in the woods! Good advice👍🏻

Just saw this. Great idea!!! For the naysayers, it's not about how much time it takes. It's about finding a use for something that would otherwise make it into the trash. It's about expanding your thought process. And it's about finding a way to make something you want or need when "buying" it ISN'T an option anymore. Yes, you can currently buy something similar right now, but that's not what is important here. What's important is the fresh idea presented. Again, Great Idea! And for those who would say "But he used electricity" I'll just comment 'solar', and 'water wheel', and 'exercise bike', and 'animal treadmill', and etc.

If you need it to be waterproof then put an 'O' ring between the two halves where they screw together - probably look better too!

the thing is that with these you can also pack quite a punch with the blunt end. A self defense gadget and a container in one is a good idea.

Yes it's uses don't add up to the amount of work it took to make it. But you did a helluva job executing an idea you had, nicely done👌 I've made plenty of pointless little things but the satisfaction out ways anything

Thanks for the vid. To all the naysayers: The whole idea of it is a survival container that can survive some rough handling, okay he demonstrated it with BB pellets and 5 euros, but it could just as easily have been, matches (wrapped in the five euros perfect kindling), paper money, condom (before you lot start, look up the survival tips you can do with a dom) fishing line, hooks, small blades (the slim knife blades would be ideal for this) or a multitude of other small items that could help you survive. Just remember this come the apoko... apcalyp... apocaly.. ah hell you know what I mean, and your saying to the mutant next to you "Wish I had one of those things now!"

5:37 if you sanded of the cut the fit would be better. Also you could draw a line (in lengh) with a permanent marker before you cut so you know the exact position before you glue it together. (would be a nearly perfect fit)

Use a pipe cutter to make the cut and it'd be perfect every time

there's a cooler all metal version. not 100% waterproof and airtight, but much more sturdy. (you can always seal it with tape) -take two capsules and cut them like this: body-> (ZZZZZ/ /)= (ZZZ/ /ZZ/

What a lot of effort for something that looks like it is going to leak like a sieve. I make salt and pepper containers for camping with these by drilling the valve assembly out of the neck and fitting rubber stoppers to them once filled. You can also key them with glass paper and spray them jazzy hi gloss colours to match your sigg bottles.

Well done man. Ignore the bad comments. It's easier to go to the shop and buy... It takes effort, time and some brains to come up with new ideas. Recycling is the soul of the video. If for some it useless, then make the video an example and make something that is useful for you.. if the OP creator of the video needs something like this, then at least he is making an effort to make one for himself. Made not bought. Recycle and remake 👍 bon travail..

If the canister is only going to be opened once-say for matches to start a fire in an emergency-then it could simply be sealed shut with black electrical tape or aluminum HVAC tape. That'd keep it watertight and be a lot less work.

Many people are commenting that its useless but you can stash a lot of things in it that you want to remain hidden. For example you can stuff a $100 bill in it and toss the used co2 cartridge with a bunch of unused cartridges in a tool box. Dont think the wife would find it there next time shes looking for cash to buy a new purse. I wonder if you could install a flash drive in it, damn thing would be indestructible.

I always believe the output must exceed the input, otherwise I will be working at a loss. If my time input, energy input, concentration input, dedication input all brought together, far exceed the output, then I consider it a loss, unless a super importance is attached to the product.
