The only thing I don't like about the bags is maneuverability however I have seen where guys mount them to the roof rack and leave them. I broke the nozzle on mine and never went back!! Same concept though.

Great video. I know it besides the fact but just a couple of suggestions. You want to use pressure rated glue and make sure your cuts are straight.

I also made a solar shower recently. It was a little bit of a different setup that holds about 3.25 gallons. Coated it all in flex seal because I made it out of regular white 4" pvc. The first time I pressurized it I had a sprinkler lol. Fixed it and pressurized it again and the flex seal coating inflated and made a bubble at one of the seams. It works now but I only bring it up to 30 psi max. It makes me feel better that you had just as much trouble with yours haha. I really enjoyed your shower videos though.

Just drilled a hole in the center of the 4" ABS plug, and threaded a brass 3/4 NPT-to-Hose fitting into it. Going to hook it up to a quick release hose fitting and a coil hose. I'm going to let my masterpiece dry overnight and try pressurizing tomorrow. If it works I can send you some more detail. Just realized my fill location might be under my Roof Top Tent.... Time for rev 2.0 already... Less Bud Heavy next time...

I use to carry a 6 gallon blue container of water "camping WMT" under the sleeper. It gets hot there. Once water heats I put the container on the passenger seat of the truck with a garden hose reel whip. You see the hose reel thrown away stop get that whip off the reel they usually are good. Gravity fed and you use 2 gallon of water per shower. There's a process to shower. I first make a half gallon of bowl water add a squirt of bleach and use facecloth to clean face every well , use facial scrub soap to prep face for shave. After shave I wipe entire body down with bleach water head to toe. Will wash in this order. Headneck ,armchest ,mid into shorts , one leg then the other. Final rinse. Clean the 14*12 cloth I used to shower with in the bleach water and wring it out. Dry off same order washing and wringing till done. Important to wear crock material flipps and they are one part from the mold NO GLUE . You want to drain the water out the flippers while drying legs I'll put foot on something knee high and like a calf streatching exercise most the water drains out. Leave the flippers leaning on something to dry when you get inside. Drip dry 5 min. Same with your wool socks and towel.

@@SirWilliamGoes I owned a swimming pool company for many years and all our PVC had to be Scedual 40, you can use 80 as it's dark grey, then paint black. Always use primer for any pipes that are going to be under pressure! I've watched someone glue a water main on a ranch with red hot blue glue only no primer. He swar he didn't need it. Yeah he learned with in a few hrs he was off his thought just a bit. Great work to all that make these things. Also there are compact brass ball water valves. I replaces those slow ones to them. Thanks for your inspiring videos of this brilliant project, which I am hoping to replicate soon! Two quick questions: 1) Given that this type of pipe is for non-pressurized systems, how much pressure have you actually been able to put in there with your compressor? (I would prefer not to run the engine for running the compressor while taking a shower.) 2) In the final version, it looks like you switched from a threaded cleanout plug to a permanently cemented adapter for the end with the hose fitting. Wouldn't that make it harder to re-tighten the flare nut on the inside if it came loose? Thanks again and take care!
@SirWilliamGoes
@SirWilliamGoes 7 жыл бұрын
So the answer to number one is, I dont know!! I saw another video that stated that this set up should hold 100psi. I have fond the shower to be more than sufficient at 30-40psi. I agree about not having the screw thread, this was all that was available though :(

I've been researching into this exact same thing. Its getting annoying taking jugs of water on camping trips. I've been to HomeDepot, Lowes, Sutherlands and even Ace. NONE have ABS around Texas. I have tried a few industrial/commercial sellers of pipe and still can only find PVC. That is what I have to go with and have about the same problem with the fittings being costly. In addition to the 4" hot shower pipes I wanted something to store water so I got a 6" piece to just hold water from the garden hose. After buying 5ft of 6" and 20ft of 4" I'm shopping around for the fittings and how I'm going to set it up. Surprising I'm thinking the same as you with the Tee fitting. I have extra 4" because I think I will first make it so one is the air pipe- that way pressure will be more constant. Also making them modular so I can take 1 hot pipe or 2 or even 3 if I want. Ill just tap it and use fittings to add a tube or not. I don't know if I will use air hose fittings or not but likely yes, they come with simple snap on and off, they are cheap at harbor freight, and small so pressure leaks wont be a big problem. Big problem with this and its evident in the 1st version *Foam Core* ABS or *Cellular Core* which are NOT solid ABS. 1-They don't do pressure. 2- Leaks will be evident because it leaks through the foam ends into the pipe. Its like putting a paper towel between a piece of glass and a suction cup, it ain't going to work.
