What wrench did you use to connect the kobra jet hose to the cox reel?
@marcelahurtado4100
@marcelahurtado4100 Жыл бұрын
Other than getting the hose connector turned around (watch out for that one), the machine is simple to put together and use kzbin.infoUgkxfQauTxLT0JLSvqkq10rD79TU4k0Vz8zP . And very nice, too. I'm surprised at the power-it's more than we'll ever need, and we've not even used the most powerful setting yet.I've cleaned off a dirty concrete porch to get it ready for sealing, started to clean siding, and I know this pressure washer will be terrific for cleaning tools this fall.The only issue we had is we had turned around the hose connector, and it leaked. Once it was on correctly, though, we had no problems with the connection. Just remember that the end with the green knob goes towards the hose. It's obvious now what we did wrong, but not necessarily obvious at the time.

Stumbled upon this as I happen to have the same pressure washer. For those wanting to drop their psi... look at your nozzle. It should have the orfice size stamped on it. Ie: 40025 which is 40 degree and orfice 025. To drop the psi to around 1000, you need 40030. If you have more than one wand, you might be in luck!

Great project. On attaching the equipment to the plywood, T-Nuts may have worked better as they end up flushed instead of a washer and nut protruding out the back requiring a little extra work to make clearance for them.

I used the swivel side of the hose for barrel of the reel. It makes life so much easier. There's no need for a swivel end to the gun since I can always install a swivel joint. Then again, I opted for the sgs28 and never looked back.

Aloha from Australia, unfortunately we can't get that model karcher in Oz for some weird reason, maybe they won't make it in 240V. Does it vibrate the house a lot? We have a steel framed home and I don't want it to wake up the whole house. I'd put it on some kind of rubber matting to dampen it.

How were you able to mount the whole setup to the wall with the bolts for the reels on the way in the back of the board?

You can either counter sink the nuts on the back of the plywood (be careful to leave enough meat so that it is securely connected) or drill wholes larger than the nuts into the drywall so that it can sit flush (recommended). This Plywood mounting method only makes sense when you do not want to do major in wall structure changes and drywall work. Another tip would be to use wood, captive nuts from the backside so you don't have the bolts/nuts hanging off the back. Only reason I'd suggest that is to prefab like you did but on a wall without the open drywall.
@HawaiiDetailing

Did you have to cut out part of the drywall for clearance between the back of the wood and the bolts/nuts protruding out the back? (shown at the 2:12) Trying to figure out how it would sit flush with those sticking out the back. Thanks for your input!!
@HawaiiDetailing
@HawaiiDetailing 3 жыл бұрын
You can either countersink the bolts into the wood or in this case we notched the drywall as it already was all chopped up to install the plumbing and electrical. The downside to countersinking the wood is there is less structural integrity that way. The ideal install method is how I did my personal setup with blocking behind the drywall. Check out that vid also. thanks for watching.

What did you do for the bolts on the backside of the plywood against the wall? Just drill our counter sink holes in the sheet rock.

Yes that’s what we did. I prefer the method from my other video of my personal setup where I blocked out the studs behind the drywall to support everything. It’s much cleaner but requires more drywall work. There is also a hose reel mount that can span 16” to catch the studs as long as they are where you want the reel to be. It all depends on the level of construction you are comfortable with. Hope that helps. Let me know if you have any other questions. Thanks for watching.

Yes. The wall outlet is controlled by the switch. When turned on the vac turns on.

That little vacuum is powerful enough to run with that long hose??
@HawaiiDetailing
@HawaiiDetailing 3 жыл бұрын
Yes it runs it well too. It’s a 5hp motor. I love my setup. If you were to upgrade from there it would have to be a $500 wall mounted vac to get any worth while performance improvements. Thanks for watching and commenting.

What cabinets are those he has mounted to the wall? My garage walls are recessed slightly from a concrete footing, so if I put a tall cabinet on the floor, it leaves a gap between its back and the wall, but the only tall cabinets I can find are floor standing ones that specifically say not to hang on the wall like these ones are. Thanks!

Hey there I know this is a very old video but I'm looking for some guidance as I'm forced to use a 2x4 3/4" plywood to mount the same setup (active 2.0 instead of the karcher). I'm an extreme novice when it comes to home improvement so please forgive my lack of knowledge on this but I will be using the cox stainless steel wall plate for the cox reel that Obsessed Garage sells (using for looks) and it comes with 4 lag screws to get that in. Is there any reason you would still stick with the bolts/washer vs using lag screws to mount the cox hose reel steel plate? Would one be more durable over the other? Thank you!
@HawaiiDetailing
@HawaiiDetailing Жыл бұрын
If I were using that mount I would screw the lag bolts into the 16” centered studs. If studs are not available a through bolt with washers is much stronger then a lag bolt when it comes to attaching a heavy item to plywood. Hope that helps.
@slittcerslitt-sir7722
@slittcerslitt-sir7722 Жыл бұрын
@@HawaiiDetailing Gotcha! That's actually the reason for the plywood, unfortunately the condos here were built with metal studs 24" apart which I didn't bother to check until after I ordered the entire setup. Did you happen to have any issues with the through bolts sticking out the back hitting the drywall? Thank you for the quick response by the way. Hoping to get this on my wall today!
@HawaiiDetailing
@HawaiiDetailing Жыл бұрын
@@slittcerslitt-sir7722 yes you have to use a Carriage bolt and possibly hammer out a small divot where the heads meet the drywall. Should only be a small divot just to allow it to sit flush. .
