Great video😊one little extra tip...when putting in the bottom back (awkward) torx bolt, put a little bit of paper on end of your torx bit to "wedge" the bolt onto your bit, too easy to drop the bolt into the mess under pump otherwise.i have done quite a few of these😊

Great video really precise , I wasn`t going to bother doing it after fitting a brand new head on my van but I think its worth doing to eliminate any doubt of how long it will last. Thank you.

Thanks for this! mech told me my vac pump is leaking oil. It’s been hard to start for a while too, I was thinking it might be fuel pump non return valve failing but looks like it’ll be the vac pump. Got a stiff pedal too so all my seals must be shot! I’ve got low pressure to my turbo too, mech said it’s 300 when it should be 500 (Don’t know what unit he said). Wastegate is well noisy, it’s over boosting and has some hesitation, would you think this could all be down to the vac pump too? It’s just had a new n75

Great video. I have a a question about my seat léon mk2. 1.9 tdi bxe 105cv. It cranks but I really have to Insist before it starts, then stalls after about 35mins. The back to crank no start. I've already changed the injectors, timing belt, trued a different ecu, changed crankshaft sensor. Egr is clean. I really need help. I do t want to take the car to a garage, cause they'll make me pay waay too much

Is it simmilar to the 1.4 TDI PD the procedure for repairing, i'm asking because now in the winter days the car is hardly starting, and i'm suspecting issues with the tandem pump, also sometimes the brake pedal is hard, sometimes is soft, when is pressed?

Always fit the gaskets dry , o rings can be lightly lubricated with the same oil used for refilling

There are no factory instructions or gaskets available for repairing this part. The factory instructions require replacement in case of failure. The problem is, you can't check to see if you've got a tight seal between the engine oil and the fuel compartment. If there is even a small leak, fuel goes into the engine oil, dilutes it, you don't notice it and trouble ensues. (Crankshaft, hydraulic cylinder, bearing) Don't get me wrong, I'm not writing this from bad motives, my own experience.

if its only a a tiny leak of oil and fuel. do you still recommend opening the internals to do all the little bits? or would the outer main gaskets be enough.. no other fuelling issues with pressure etc

In my Skoda Octavia 1.9 TDI '2009 BXE there is a movable vacuum connector. I want to replace this LUK BMF pump with a new one. Do I need to bleed the fuel and brake system after replacing the pump? How do I do that? Advise please. Thanks for the great tutorial...

Hello. I have a passat b5.5 1.9tdi 96kw and I have some problems with it. when the car is in reverse, consumption is 1.2l/h. when working in reverse the brake is a little harder but when driving it is completely normal. revs in reverse vary slightly but very slightly. when the gas pedal is pressed a little harder, it receives the gas after 1.5, 2 seconds and emits a little black smoke. after driving i turned it off and after 15 min turned it on. and under the hood I noticed how the egr valve hisses and that the brake is a little harder. I pushed the car a little and after that the rustling disappeared and the brake became soft. I think it's a tandem pump, since you can see that it's greasy like all the hoses around it. what are your thoughts?

Thanks for the upload, my 1.9 tdi oil sump is filling rather rapidly with diesel, besides the injectors do you know if a bad seal/gasket on the tandem pump can let it in that way ?

Could I ask , changed my fuel filter on a 2007 2.0 Tdi nice engine - but the fuel look really dirty , how do you know if oil is going into fuel , just by checking the oil level regularly ? Had a Touran 1.9tdi before and the brake pedal did seem sharper ? Do you think it’s possibly the pump needs a replacement of gaskets like you’ve shown

So much easier than with the Audi, where the engine stands lengthwise with the pump 6 cm from the torpedo wall..!

The gasket kit is only for a LUK tandem pump? Stripped a Bosch one and the outer casing gasket is different

I've noted that, the repair kit for the1.9 PD 8 hole tandem pumps don't include those small springs. Is that because they are not necessary?

Hello. Passat b5.5 96kw 131hp. I suspect the tandem pump, it wants to run when it has been standing for a long time, and sometimes it wants to when it is heated. When standing for a long time, the brake wants to be harder, so it has to be pressed a little until it comes into its own. And for some reason it spends 1.2 1.3 in the back. Do you know what the problem is?

Its quite wet on that area aswell… thought that the pipe clamp was only loose

Various seals failed , most common is the centre / shaft seal

In my experience the orange seal in the (as seen in the video) with the little circular section fails 9 times out of 10. I've also seen issues where the actual gear mechanism gets worn out in which case the pump can't really be fixed without donor parts
