The blue bowl is carnival glass. It is beautiful. My grandmother had that same bowl. Always on her coffee table. Think my aunt's kid took it when she died. She owned an antique shop. The headboard is pretty. Would make a cute trellis. Bye Mav. Your kids are angels. Really good kids. You found a treasure chest of want nots. Shame that all would have landed in the land field. So, you saved it. Peace!

Working with that aluminum reminds me of a story my Grandfather told. During the Great Depression he would walk into town from his farm looking for work. Sometimes he walked his two mules with him and did paving and grading work. And then he had to walk home at night! But this story was about the really big, tall grainery buildings they were building beside the railroad. He was a farmer/carpenter so he got a job to work way up on that grainery to help put the roof on. I would never have been able to work up that high! They were putting a tin roof on. His piece started to slide and he grabbed it with his bare hands and sliced his hand to the bone. Better that than have it fall on someone below or have to climb down and back up. He just wrapped it with a handkerchief and kept working. My Grandma made his nail aprons. I have one. He liked to wear it on his chest so she made it like a vest with a pocket.

Back in the 1950s when I was a kid (77 now) my parents bought a set of Collier's encyclopedias. Included in the package were ten volumes of what Collier's called "Junior Classics." The book you found on your way home was volume 8 of that set. I was a voracious reader then and I still remember some of the articles and stories that were in those books. Your kids will probably like them too. Cool videos. Stay after it.

The blue dish is called carnival glass it also comes in a different color which is golden in color. I think they called it carnival glass because you could win it at a carnival, but I'm no expert so if anyone has more knowledge please let us all know. Ashley and Doug the two cherubs that you named Maverick and Belle are actually candle huggers. You get two of the taper candles. And each cherub hugs a candle. I have 2 myself. As if they are flying. All of that is cute. Wouldn't last very long in my apt with 2 cats that have frequent 6 am zoomies. Or anything small is considered a toy.

If that blue and purple bowl is glass and not plastic, that is a rare run of carnival glass. Usually it is yellow, amber, or gold hues. It's not really worth all that much more than regular, but it is pretty unique, and it is old and built better than modern glass. I was passed down the amber hues with the pretty rainbows inside from both grandparents and found a punch bowl and cup set I used at my wedding at a garage sale. It has served at numerous family events since. They will be passed down because they are loved by my kids.

I LOVE your free hauls! I’d love to see some “styling” results if you use any of it. That big flower was my favorite. 🌟Those wooden eggs can go in your chicken coop to encourage the hens where to lay! 😂 There is a vine flower I love to grow called “”Love-in-a-Puff.” It has little balloon blossoms like the “Chinese Lantern” orange ones. They look fantastic in arrangements. They need a trellis. I love re-imagined stuff like the headboard in a garden! It’s always so enchanting. (I also love to grow flowers and ‘filler’ plants that dry nicely for seasonal arrangements.)

This was a good haul from the side of the road. That port bottle is wine, don’t even think about tasting it. You should say goodbye to that bottle. Back to the build. You would think by now some engineers would come up with some new type of material for siding. Something more substantial to offer more protection for the homeowner. I know it’s only a mobile home but it is still a home. It should be just as light and easy to work with but dent and rust free and tough. Just sayin. Have a nice day guys.

Blue iridescent bowl is known as carnival glass. It was a cheap glass at the time but because it was cheap, people didn't often take care of them and now they are valuable. It's nice and thick, it's pretty and useful. I LOVE the ceramic magnolia blossom. After the War, "Made in Occupied Japan" was prominent cheap stuff. Again, because it was cheap, it didn't always get treated like things of value. But because of that and because it was just during a certain time of history, it's valuable stuff now. It was a way to build the country back up. After the occupation, "Made in Japan" was the "Made in China" cheap stuff of today. But it was usually well made and pretty stuff. It's certainly lasted longer than what you get today at Temu and Shein, LOL.
