That's gonna be a beautiful shop, when you're done! It was an awesome idea to paint the siding, before putting up all the trim!👍😁

It really did make a big difference.

What a great Man Cave, Gene. I can see it being a Stay Cation Getaway Resort by the time you're done! All the best with it. And don't forget, you can still add a 2nd level for that craft lady in your life. That's what i had to do, lol. Motorcycle(s) and workshop on the bottom, Craft area on the upper level. The entire lower interior is tongue and groove pine and the upper has sheet rock and Parque flooring. Got a great deal from a neighbor moving away who had all the materials but didn't get to build.
@DIYGene6 ай бұрын
Oh I would love to see how your shop looks. The tongue and groove sounds really cool. I really want to think about how I finish the inside. I like the rustic cabin look or maybe even some steampunk. My biggest fear is to not rush it and start moving in. Any ideas?

@@DIYGene Heres a partial vid on the lower level. It's a 26x26 2 level Gambrel style building. The Town Assessor kept coming by to be sure I wasn't building a house, lol. kzbin.info/www/bejne/nKCrfquphMSFmLM

You didn't make any mistakes, I see "mistakes" as learning curves on the road to perfection. Looking forward to see the next video Gene (so I can avoid the 'learning curves" for my own projects😉) Your music and your son's singing? Hugs from Belgium - Daniella.

Hello Daniella! I have been wanting to do this for so , so long. I’m like a little kid at Christmas. Well maybe a really hot and sweaty kid. LOL.

@@DIYGene My son in Baltimore has the same heat "problem", while here at the coast in Belgium it's 58/60 degrees and rain and wind, no sun, kids/families have no beach vacation time... Enjoy your Christmas kiddo, lol.

You're starting! I'm so happy for my friend! I can't wait to see it. Hopefully I'll be back in the states in time to help you move in! (Then again, it took you how many years to get to this point? I may have to travel some more because you'll have me carrying roof trusses or something. LOL!) I can't wait to see the finished shop!

Why no vapor barrier btw the studs and the siding?
@DIYGene6 ай бұрын
If I was going to use a vinyl or lap siding, I could see doing that. But with T1-11 I didn’t think it is necessary. But I am no pro at this. I am learning as I go.

Commenting at 20:30. Have not seen the whole video. Why not make the doors as tall as possible? Bring the header all the way up to just under the top plate. On so many sheds I only had wished the doors were taller.
@DIYGene6 ай бұрын
I’m going to put a porch on the front and need the doors to clear the porch.
