Hey Kelsey I do woodworking as a hobby. But something I’ve learned is when trying to cut something so they meet up at a 90 degree angle cut it at a 43 degree angle. This usually leave it as a perfect fit, but on the off chance it isn’t you can use wood filler and sand it down. Just a trick for the future :)

Interesting! Do you know how/why the extra 4° sort themselves out?
@jeanine64923 жыл бұрын
There isn’t an extra 4 degrees. It’s because the saw isn’t calibrated perfectly, so a 45 degree cut isn’t actually 45 degrees. It’s better if you adjust your saw as most (especially cheaper DIY level) are not perfectly set in the factory (plus transporting etc can put them out).

"if two things are cut at a 45° angle, why do they not match up perfectly?" basically either because your saw isn't good enough to cut the angle completely perfect and it's a couple degrees off on both sides, or because you sanded the cuts afterwards and didn't do that evenly - it's unfortunately surprisingly hard to make a perfect waterfall edge. for all it's worth, i think you did a great job with the tools and time at your disposal :)

@OrganizeCreateDecorate3 жыл бұрын
Wow! Both look magnificent girls. To keep the wood from splintering, wrap painters tape around the wood where the cut will be. Works every time. The reason that the 45° cuts don't match up is because saw aren't always prefect. You can get a digital magnetic angle locator to use instead of relying on the saw itself. They are amazing.
