Don’t throw away the “dirt” from the plainer! If you mix it with glue you can make wood filler in the exact color of your wood 🤍
@CleaTV11 ай бұрын
Yes, it's great! Glue + water + wood chips work pretty well. But I've noticed that hand-sanded sawdust is better to use than machine-made sawdust. That's because the hand-sanded dirt is much thicker than the other. And when you do your final sanding, with machine sawdust the wood filaments can more easily go off in one block. That doesn't happen with fine dust.

They literally already made a video where one of them used that trick in a project.

For snipe "send a shorter sacrificial board before and after the piece you are planing. This smaller board gets the snipe and the board in the middle does not. You need to push the boards right up against each other so it simulates being just one board going through. This method works very well and is one of the best ways to reduce snipe."

Impressive! My only worry is that I assume cabinet handles like those are usually installed vertically for ergonomic reasons. Your wrist will naturally fold when opening a vertical handle but isn’t able to bend sideways with a horizontal one. I also think the vertical handles would’ve complimented the lines in the wood panelling but it’s just a thought! Still looks great 🫶

This is a lovely island. I would love to see it in my home if my kitchen was bigger. I'm so impressed with how conscientious every choice was and how well made it is. I learned some new skills and tricks as well. One thing I might add would be a shallow shelving unit to the middle area, which would add some storage for the cook and close it up visually from the sitter's side.
@pmg753811 ай бұрын
Forgot to add that the shelving unit I might add would have a solid back so the shelves are visible only to the cook. Also ketchup chips are a new thing to me! (in the U.S.)
