Please help. The thermostat is set to 69, but it’s 66 in the house. I can see blue flames inside the unit and when I check on the filter, it seems like air is moving through the area. However, no hot air is blowing out of the vents. Perhaps there is a stronger fan (blower) that’s not forcing air through the unit?

Thanks for watching, great question. There is indeed and it’s a very important part of the system. By chance do you hear your lower blower motor and fan turn on? If not, that may be the issue. Below is a link that gives you a good look at our internal blower fan/motor unit. kzbin.info/www/bejne/a3_Fm4Jpa9qrhKcsi=eF1m4NNPBddHO4bw Keep us posted. 👍

@@brianfenske5571 Thanks for watching. If you are not getting any air flow out of your vents…the blower motor has been triggered to shut down and turn off blower fan in the process. Is your unit illuminating any fault codes or blink patterns?

Thank you for your helpful video. I have a question why my furnace stop produce heat after running few hours? I set temp 80 and it stop usually around 70 while thermostat screen still indicates heat on. No matter I click on/off heat, reset system, it does not work. However, it will work again on the day after that, but the same problem show up again, so on . I tried to replace new filter and new thermostart but the issue can not be resolved. Can you let me know what is happening with my furnace before call for help from professional. Thank you so much and Happy New Year.

Thanks for watching, great question. Your furnace may be overheating. Have you replaced filter recently? Lack of ventilation will shut the system down before reaching preset temperature.

@DIY with Michael Borders I did replace the filter and thermostat. It runs only once every week. When it is off for a few days we can turn it on. And then it will turn off once it reaches a set temperature. But then it will not work until a few days later. It is not windy in our area. We know it is an overheating issue. But what is the next step do you suggest us to do? Thanks
@DIYwithMichaelBorders Жыл бұрын
@@VideosLecture Thanks for watching, a few things can cause this. First, we recommend turning furnace off followed by removing the panel necessary to gain access to the control board. Next, carefully and precisely verify all screws securing wiring to the control board are properly secured, not loose.

My furnace turns on and the flame ignites but the flame then turns off
@DIYwithMichaelBorders9 ай бұрын
Good morning ☕️ That’s no fun. A few things can cause this however most common two parts are a faulty Flame Sensor or faulty Igniter. However before replacing parts, a dirty air filter can cause this. If filter hasn’t been replaced in the past 2 months, it’s best to change it and see if that helps. Keep us posted.

Our thermostat is on heat instead of it being on auto it has to be on for the fan to even kick on. The switch is on too. But it’s still blowing cold air. No heat but apparently one of the fan motors has some wear and tear on it and is going out.

Good morning, just poured a cup of coffee and am sitting down to answer any and all questions for the DIY community. Any update? A few things come to mind that may help. 1. Replace filter 2. Verify filter compartment is clean and clear 3. While inspecting filter housing, take a look at large blower motor fan. If very dusty and dirty, we recommend carefully vacuuming it. Does the furnace ignite the flames momentarily or do they never ignite?
