Weather lady says a snowstorm is coming. It’s currently 36° and temperatures are dropping. My wife and kids keep saying it’s getting colder and colder. I’m ignoring them and then I start to notice that it is getting colder. I check the thermostat at 68° in the house but the desired temp is on 74. I must say everything that you described in your video between the cycling on and off cutting and then off for three hours to the letter was happening. I went through your entire instruction video with my son and in less than 15 minutes we had the furnace up and running again. I thank you so much. I am a subscriber, liked &commented. I appreciate it. God in your heart, peace in your thoughts and dreams. Job well done ( impressive that this video is 3 years old and still informative and effective)

Sir, I sincerely thank you and have the upmost respect for you and your scholastic provision! I am a single mom and when these type of break downs occur, I pray to God for a way to resolve them. In this instance, my furnace stopped blowing hot. I was guilty of forgetting to change out the filters, so they were indeed dirty. Your repair guidance defined the issues and provided me with the knowledge and skillset to resolve it within a matter of minutes. I can only imagine what you saved me in charges I would’ve incurred from an HVAC tech. Needless to say, I’m forever grateful to your angelic covering during this obstacle.🙏😊

Fantastic video! I called what I thought was a reputable local HVAC company On a Friday to do a tune up on my Lennox forced air Gas heater. Since they couldn't come out until Monday I searched around and found your video. I have a 5 burner system and only 2 of them were working. After viewing your video I knew exactly what would be done in a cleaning and tune up. HVAC tech arrived and ran his vacuum in the heater for about 10 min. He called me in for the bad news. I needed a whole new heater to the tune of appx $7,000 USD. He said it was beyond repair. I said he did nothing on the tune up list and got his boss to refund the service call fee as it was really just a sales call. I then did the tune up steps you outline but instead of cleaning the burner I just bought a new one for $84. Just installed it and everything is working great. Thanks again for your fantastic videos!

Yes ma’am glad you found this, many companies (especially dealing with ac) charge 80-100 just to show up (no way to get around it but still very high) then mark up the part, then might even throw In a 30 dollar charge for 5 minutes of labor. For the other commenters here some companies are honest but no sense in paying 80 for someone to show up then mark up a product someone could get for 20-30 and put in themself. I renovate houses and have dealt with dozens of companies for numerous situations and it’s wild the range of proves companies will charge for replacing a cheap part.

After looking at several websites, mostly for HVAC companies who wanted to send someone out, I stumbled upon your video and your mention of the most common problem - which turned out to be my furnace's problem! You are the man and thank you, after 2 nights sleeping with the temp outside at 4 degrees F in NY waiting for the parts store to open on Monday I got frustrated watching my elderly parents and my 6 year old son freezing so... being a technical person I said I will fix it one way or another. I looked up common causes after diagnosing the issue first, I know i had Gas, I knew I had ignition, but after a min the flame would shut off and the system would get stuck in cycle. I knew it had to be a safety sensor, or something, but 110v systems are not my specialty. so I checked all mighty KZbin that has saved me from many Automotive Issues in the past. and Wahla, the first video I clicked on was yours and you pointed me right to the problem, Older Trane 70 unit, had to take some stuff apart to get to the flame sensor (attached to the ignitor/pilot) but once I got to it, took a 3M scrub pad/sponge combo from the kitchen pantry and went to town, I put it all back together and poof! Magic Flames started to heat the house! Thank you so much sir, you certainly saved me some money and frost bite! Happy New Year!

I have been doing Plumbing and HVAC work for 30 years and I agree 100% with video. The flame rod for the most part just needs cleaned. I have never replaced a flame rod in all my 30 years of servicing furnaces but I have cleaned 100’s. I have been on service calls after other techs that said they cleaned the flame rod. But they try to clean them with out taking them out, just scraping it with a screwdriver, all different things. Some are hard to get out, but you have to take it out and clean it with the green scotch brite pad. I have heard of technicians saying they needed replaced, and that’s because they didn’t know what they where doing. Just clean it and save the customers all that money. It might only be $10.00 for a new flame rod but it $89.00 for another service call and travel time.

Great presentation. My furnace went out overnight and we awoke to a chilly house. It's fall in Wyoming, and we're in the 20's most every night now. After my trouble shooting logic failed to bear fruit, I found this video. Clear and concise explanations, and in five minutes, the heater was back on line. Thanks!!!

Great video. Helped me resolve my furnace issue in around 10 minutes after watching the video. Powered down, removed the flame sensor, cleaned it, put it back in, powered back up, and the flames came on and stayed on. Thank you for posting this.

10:00 on a Saturday night and my furnace quit. Had it checked two month ago by a plumber. Checked filters, ducts, air exchanger-no luck. Lucky to find this video and had it working in ten minutes. Thanks for the great job!

Thanks to your video, I have save quite a bit of money diagnosing and fixing my furnace. I have gotten a professional HVAC guy to come in and he couldn't fix my problem and suggested I replace my main board before he headed out on summer hollidays. I then watched many videos and found yours to be most helpful and following your diagnostic procedures, I was able to fix my heating problem without spending a dime. Just some time watching video. Thanks.

In my many years of plumbing and heating installs and service work, I was always told that the first thing to do is turn the gas valve off, then test for stray voltage. A Tick Tracer is a wonderful thing to carry around and check for stray voltage. It only takes Milliamps to kill you.

Haha, this was my exact situation today. Woke up to a cold house, we're in a snowstorm, and my car is taken apart being fixed today too. I was able to get the heat fixed so far today. Now onto the other things.
