Hi guys! So just to clarify... the formula to find the back hip and front hip measurement is found in 0:20 of the video. Example: Hip 44 Front hip = (hip/4) -0.25” Back hip= (hip/4) +0.25” Front hip is 10.75 while the Back hip is 11.25 Front crotch extension ( a quarter of front hip measurement ) see minute 5:14 of video Back crotch extension ( half of back hip measurement) see minute 5:06 of video. I hope this helps ❤️❤️🙏🏾 WATCH THIS to see how I sew the trousers, they came out perfect! kzbin.info/www/bejne/b6vEqY2tpJ2KatE

So if I understand 44" is the circumference around the hips. So you would only use that formula if you didn't measure from center front to side seam to get your back hip arc and your front hip arc. So I took my measurements differently because I'm using a book and your videos (which are super helpful) and I measured from center front to side seam. So my (side seam) front hip arc and my back hip arc are already measured exactly where they need to be therefore all I would need to do is add ease to both. Does this sound right? If I measured the circumference of the hips and divided by 4 all four sides would be exactly equal (and our bodies aren't equal, the front and back are different) that's why you would need to do the subtracting part to the front of the pants. Right? ರ_ರ I hope I'm understanding this right hehe.

This is my question : after taking 0.75 from the back trouser and then measure my 1/4 of my waist + the dart intake of 2.25 , I have nothing to use as the hip curve part. Pls what is the solution. Many thanks

Thank you so much; I’m glad you enjoyed it. For fitted pants, you’ll need to make it fitted using those measurements you mentioned and the centre line as a reference point. To make jumpsuits, rompers etc; you’ll need to make a bodice, combine both so the darts meet. I hope this makes sense?
