I know this video is old but great job. One major thing that I noticed that I wouldn't do myself is, rehearsing the introductions while there guests present. While I agree with you to rehearse what you're going to say the day of.... I would personally do it after setting up before guests start to arrive.. Giving me more time to interact with the guests during the cocktail hr. Since most of the time (if not all of the time) we just have an easy listing playlist going, it's a perfect opportunity to mingle with the guests. Exp. Introducing yourself, getting to know their likes in genres and potentially booking another gig. It's like DJ's having the laptop face and not paying attention to the crowd..

I wouldn't ask for applause, it should come naturally from you building up the excitement.

#protip.....type up a script of what you are going to say with phonetic pronunciation of any names that are unusual. You won't go wrong with what you are going to say in front of you. Also, I have a printed out script just in case something happens to my tablet.

Thanks for the video and for showing that you don’t need a huge setup every time. I’m a gear whore and have the problem of feeling like since I have it I should use it. I’ve been doing same table setup and wall as you, with two elx18p subs with the elx15ps on top. Moving heads on the subs, two light trees with 4 cans each, mini kintas, and spiders each, and room up lighting for $100 an hour. And all by myself! I think it’s time to look into packages.

why are your pars (dance lights) on during cocktail/dinner? Looks as fantastic as a bingo hall can LOL. No need to ask for applause, saying 'next up'...and STOP 'at this time'. Pointless! "please stand for our guests of honor, the newly married mr and mrs blake. Nice and clear and good energy!

Hey DJ, you are doing great vids. I don't want to give you a negative comment but I've been watching a ton of vids lately and I've DJd for the last 30 years and asking for a round of applause for every thing that happens isn't necessary. I noticed you kept doing it and all you had to do instead was break it up. What I mean is try just saying something like, "Now for the parents of the happy couple". People instinctively know when to clap, they don't need to be told everytime. It can get too repetitive. Also they not saying, " At this time". If you want to announce something just say it. Brian S Redd has a video on this topic and he's right. All your tips are great and you do a pro job other than mentioning the applause. I don't even think clients notice it much but an experienced DJ will. Keep up the good work.
