When you DJ full time as a full time career and managing a DJ company, YES burn out is so real! Right now is our slow season so I'm enjoying every minute of not having any gigs. I totally get what you're saying about loving what you do but not wanting to do anything with DJing after a while. 2022 burned me out also and by the time December hit, I was so done with DJing and just wanted to do anything besides DJing. So I can feel where you're coming from. Glad to see you back up and refreshed!

love it you are back!!! i had burnout earlier this year as well! i run my business part time and have a full time job in the day time 9-5 and i was doing 4-5 events a week through my business. I took a few weeks off from djing, i passed onto other djs but a few weekends off to chill and spend time with loved ones was GREAT! came back refreshed! Appreciate any sub love!

New sub... I have been watching your videos...it is a learning process and experience. When I djed I factor distance, venue, hours, any additional items are separate...like lights, smoke, a dancer. Carrying all the equipment and the vinyl records was lots of work. I stopped djing but I miss the aspect of making ppl have and enjoy an amazing time. Am on Miami now, and noticed that you have a contact in Orlando..would be interested of getting back into the music scene. Congratulations on all of your experiences and the equipment...you face challenges and as DJ's we need to be prepared for unexpected things. What would you recommend in a mixer for a beginner. Hey Barr do you know what speaker poles were used with the ETX system?

I was at a friend's wedding a few years back (I was a guest), and the place had a built in sound system. I have been to this hall a few times over the years, and their sound is decent, but this time around the overall loudness was meh for some reason. To me, it sounded as if the power output of the amps/speakers had been limited. Every time the DJ tired to make it louder, distortion started to happen. No mater what the DJ tried, he just couldn't make it loud enough. I found out a few weeks later from my friend, that the hall owner had decided to limit their system's output, because a DJ a few months prior, had blown out one of the main house speakers. With that said, don't let yourself be at the mercy of a venue if at all possible. Always try/insist on using your own sound/lighting even if the place has their own stuff.

If you think being a wedding DJ is hard, being a rave DJ is even harder. Rave DJs have a lot more logistical challenges than wedding DJs including marketing to as many people as possible, the process of selling tickets, renting venues, scheduling, and others. Not to mention the talent, passion, and the endurance that is required to be a rave DJ.

i must b crazy - i started getting paid to dj in 1981, i literally almost didnt miss a week of getting paid to dj clubs or parties until from march 2020 till july 2020 - that was it those 4 months i was home because of covid, now im back at it, less than i used to dj , things in nyc changed but im whatever still crushing the wedings and clubs im not burned out! I still look for more new and different things to dj and i say getting paid because im not a bedroom dj, never was.

Amazing video. Not the first time i watch your videos. Just very supprised how you manage a party with two moving heads (have seen you use 4 somtimes). I am creating a basement party room and already have 4 moving head, 2 adj stinger ii etc. Maybe its more importat to have a small install then great effects.
