www.djtutor.com/mixing1 This is a subtle way of changing the best in the mix, all you do is start the secont song/toon on the off beat. toon to the right is Inaya Day " shout it out"

Even if it appears to be a "basic trick" or "for beginners", things like this will get you closer to really do something with the music besides playing a track after another. There are other ways to do this, like putting in a loop the piece you want to bring over your master track and using the crossfader (properly assigned) to hear the loop on the mix. Respect to the skins man, for doing what most DJs don't, which is sharing knowledge.

As a new DJ you have become my guru. Thanks for all the time you took out of your own schedule to help us out! My Numarks only have pitch shift, no tempo change and it's such a pain, I just can't get the two tracks to STAY in sync... I can get about 4 seconds worth of a sync before one starts to slip away from the other. How can I correct this with just a pitch shift? I'm using Trap and Dubstep beats...

I agree with you "AisyTheDog". Very easy to understand & very helpful ellaskins, thank you. I have also noticed in many of your vid's you play very groovy music during your demonstrations. Do you have a video on how to focus on the lesson at hand as appose to "Getting down" or "Dancing" during the lesson? Good stuff man, keep it up.

and? this is a tutorial or a help for people to either start DJ'ing or try to think of their DJ work in different ways! J stated in other videoes that he doesn't see himself as a super star DJ but he knows what he is doing that is why he can tell us so we know what to do..... it's a gift to be able to teach and he is using that gift on us so we can enjoy something he loves as well

I've also seen dj's who do this with the crossfader, like pull it to the other side for just 1 beat or so. Is the cue better 4 this?

wtf man he's so good, sometimes u can barely tell the difference between his tracks, his mixing is spot on, and when was the last time u tried djing while operating a camera dumb ass, hes not only doing that but hes also talking to the camera while djing, imo that's pretty impressive. I would love to see this guy live, he embodies the true DJ, and in response to him traveling the world djing, did you ever stop to think that he doesn't want to as he probably has a wife and kids and is not able to.

@TheRealDJLukie The loop button is your friend.. on the current track that is playing, lock a 8 beat loop with no lyrics. then on the Drake track set a 2 beat Loop and bring the Drake track in.. then after a 16 beat run release the 2 beat Loop and you are in the mix.. its a simple trick to do.. you could also throw a few filters in on the lyrics & also increase & decrease the Loop beat to suit.. hope that helps.. Any other questions just ask.

to 1m1l, this is an easier way of doing it because if you just press the cue and keep your finger on the cue as soon as you take your finger off the song will go back to the beginning , so with in a second you can repeat the process. j

They will beat match the song they want to mix in whith their headphones. Like on the DJM-900 nexus mixer you have a white cue button above each channel. If you press that button you will hear that channel trough your headphones, that way you can beatmatch it and turn the master output on whenever you like to.
