The opening sung by the "monsters" is actually a twisted up version of the Toccata from the Toccata and Fugue in D minor. That, and the detuned Fur Elise, can be heard in the background from time to time. You're right, from left to right, Geoff is dressed as a mad Victorian scientist (aka Dr. Frankenstein), Dracula, Wolfman (occasionally scratching at his fleas), and Frankenstein's monster. The only "classic" monster missing is the Mummy, but he's represented in the fourth dance move. The choreographer was Matthew “Bucky” Buckner, the titular Drunken Sailor of the VoicePlay video. The monsters were performed in slow motion and shot at a higher frame rate to give that otherworldly creepiness. There were a number of problems with the original, full-makeup video shoot and the Rick Underwood wasn't available for the re-shoot, so Kathy did the makeup for the final version.

So the choreography during the chorus is actually the iconic poses of the big 4 monsters. You start with Frankenstein’s monster (arms straight out), then you go to wolf man (howling at the moon with claws out), then Dracula (peeking behind the cape), and finally the mummy (arms crossed over your body). I especially love how the poses get more elaborate each chorus.

Well done for being one of the first reactors to notice Kathy in the background! Most people question where she came from. Geoff actually does floss in the background a lot (or behind the scenes) so it is almost his "signature move". Mom enjoyed her first of your reactions!

Monster Mash was the very first music video I heard on KZbin. I had to find more, and found Hoist the Colours, fell down that rabbit hole and love it. The dance movements start with Frankenstein (arms straight out), Wolf Man (bent at elbows with claws up), Dracula (one arm bent at clavicle height to hold the cloak), Mummy (arms wrapped around him). Dracula's son was a D1. Bucky of Drunken Sailor did the choreography for Geoff.

I love this. But then i love them all. Geoff has said “Did you pick up on the "la la la" section? It's Bach's toccata and fugue in d minor, just shuffled and swung”. At the end, there is a hint of Fur Elise. The first great moment is when Geoff stares into the camera, breaking the fourth wall. Hilarious. And at the end, Geoff on the right does The Floss. Incredible. Geoff the narrator is Frankenstrein, his wife must be the bride of Frankenstein, and the one on the right is of course the monster, with Dracula and Wolfman in the middle.

This was video my introduction to Geoff two years ago, and I've been under his spell ever since. (He just released a mini, I Put A Spell On You.) For the whippersnappers out there who need to get off my lawn, you may not know that the original version by Bobby Pickett was a novelty song done when the Mashed Potato dance was all the craze in the early '60s, like the Hustle in the '70s and Macarena in the '90s. You're the first reactor to notice Kathy on the couch at the start. Cool! Geoff says he's a terrible dancer and only likes to dance when he's being goofy. His friend from way back, Matthew Buckner, aka Bucky, designed the choreography here that includes Geoff's signature move, flossing. (Bucky is the Drunken Sailor for VoicePlay and in the mini, 500 Miles.) And yes, Geoff's narrative voice is fabulous. He has several short stories on his channel so you can have him read you a bedtime story. Just released The Legend of Sleepy Hollow. Most of them are on the macabre side but he's also done 'Twas the Night Before Christmas.

Kathy is the Bride of Frankenstein, I believe, so she's not entirely alive. :) I believe Geoff says somewhere that there was extensive makeup to make him look like a vampire, a wolfman, and a monster, but something happened, and they had to film the whole thing again, but with only Geoff's and Kathy's costuming to convey who the trio was. Frankly, I find this just as effective, because it's subtle.
@janetdw

It was so very creepy. The clones were all lying down on the floor like they’ve been tossed away in the beginning and the make up was just terrifying. Kathy’s make up was also much more on point and when they were dancing she truly looked dead - she was completely limp. I liked it because it was so well done, but it might have been a little too well done for a lot of people. They re-recorded the next day, and Kathy did all the make up. Rick’s version of semi- dead Kathy was creeper. This version is a lot more fun.

When the music really takes off, it always reminds me of Norman Greenbaum’s Spirit in the Sky and I don’t know if that’s just me or if that’s his sly little reference to spirits. The dance moves are supposed to be indicative of the four Hollywood horror icons: the Frankenstein monster strangling someone, Wolfman slashing with his claws, Dracula raising his cape, and the mummy is the one who didn’t show up that day. Daryl hadn’t joined the group yet! Wolfman Geoff is definitely my favorite. I don’t know whether it’s that he looks so good in that type of outfit or that he’s just so darn funny. But I have a hard time watching the others.

When you're learning those dance moves, just keep the following mnemonic in mind: They're the stylized movements of 4 famous movie monsters: Frankenstein's monster (arms outstretched to the front), Wolfman ('claws' up, elbows pulled back), Dracula (right arm across face as if draping a cape), the Mummy (arms hugged around torso as if wrapped). Each iteration gets more complex, but they're all still those basic forms. Oh, and don't forget to floss! 😎

My favorite thing about the dance moves in the chorus is how they're all clearly inspired by some classic monster or other. The first one with arms extended? Frankenstein's Monster The second one where you turn sideways and lean back? Kinda invokes the image of a werewolf howling (and then in the later verses a claw-slash move is added) The third one where you hold your arm up near your chin? A vampire doing the cape thing The fourth one where you hug yourself? I'm thinking that one's meant to be The Mummy

This was super. The sad thing is that this is a second recording. Geoff said the first didn't come out, and it had to be redone. Sadder still, the great makeup originally used couldn't be redone, as the Artist couldn't come back. Kathy redid it as close as she could. So, as impressive the makeup here is, and she did a wonderful job, we can only wonder how it would have looked originally. I'm subscribing to you, as I've reacted to you often enough. Good work! But, as a possible ego boost to you, you are the first reactor I've subscribed to.

I was always so happy anytime I saw the show and it was him and Kathy as Frankie and Bride. If Corey was Beetlejuice and Aaron was Drac, you knew you were in for a great show.
