In some instances yes, but when flying FPV it hasn't over heated on me. The wind cools the camera in a sense.

Hello, I see the latching mechanism is strong if you pull straight out but how good is it if you twist or pull it to the side? Imagine downhill skiing crash at high speed.

I like almost everything about the new Action 2 except for two things: first, the price is too high; and second, it has terrible overheating issues rendering it impractical or even useless. The price, although high, is not the deal breaker, but the overheating is. I looked into to it, was really tempted, but the overheating is a deal breaker for me. The reviews on Amazon, which often tend towards glowing, are overwhelmingly negative with heat problems being the universal complaint. DJI, you f'd up with this one!

I got a pocket 2 for the sensor. The pocket 2 is a bit delicate. These have the same sensor, i guess the compromise would likely be the batter. The pocket two may fit your needs better as it can follow you. The timelapse on pocket 2 is amazing

Hey Billy, great review! As a bike tourist, I love the idea of easy switching of mounts. It's intuitive to use one hand to release the mount clips and the other to pull away the camera. However, can you remove the Action 2 camera from a magnetic mount with ONE HAND? Maybe grab camera and use one finger to release one clip? I'd appreciate a 20 second test before I buy! Thanks!

Yeah you could use one hand. Just have to use your fingers to move the teeth on the side and then kind of slide it backwards in your palm

I'm sure some will like/love it. I will be sticking with the original Osmo. It's fine for my purposes and I love it. A shame they didn't do an upgraded Osmo with the same body form and release a modular cam as well. But that's prob asking for too much! I hope when my Osmo gives up they might have revisited it or have come up with something better. I don't want to have to buy a Go Pro if I can help it. 🙂

So there was a reason go pro dropped the session design ! Limited camera life due to not being able to swap batteries over in the main unit and overheating!! From what I’ve seen so far the overheating issues are there !! And the battery will be a test of time !! Love the idea but a step backwards? Possibly 🤔

2 steps forward, 1 step back. I feel DJI didn't need to make it so complicated. Look at the pendent for example, its 2 pieces. I think the insta360 go 2 did a far better job in design/making a "life capturing" camera then action 2. This being said, i'll just wait for the discounted used market before upgrading from the go 2. I do agree rock steady 2 works, but your footage on the drone and others also reviewing it had some jerkiness when flying freestyle.
