You keep calling the FPV as if it was a previous model of the same drone. But the reality is that the FPV is a different drone for a different market. The FPV is built for speed and manuervability. But the Avata is a Cinewoop style drone which has a different purpose. The FPV is still the current model of that drone and not being replaced by the Avata.

Maybe I missed it on the video, but I see that there is a price for just the drone and then the drone with the controller and goggles...so can you just buy the drone with a traditional controller. Also, it would be cool if they had a way to track the location of the drone if it goes down some distance away in brush, for example, or at least maybe a way to trigger a light or a beeping sound on the drone so that you can home in on where it's at if you didn't see its exact location when it crashes.
@SteevilKinevil2 жыл бұрын
Looks like it uses DJI’s GEO 2.0 geofencing system so the drone must know where it is, but I've not seen anything stating the pilot can track it if it goes down (in a similar manner to the Mavic). Would be useful to have a phone link so we can home in on it.

Someone said it took almost a quater year to get back the drobe for repairing work caused the repairing and service center is abroad. Those "covers" or "protectors" around the propellers are not primarily for protecting the propellers. That is what is called a "ducted propeller" design. Ducted propellers have certain aerodynamic advantages because of the way that they suck air through the "duct." Ducts can make a propeller more efficient which is good for drones to improve lift and extend flying time.
@danbrownellfuzzy30102 жыл бұрын
Cant be too long before someone with a 3d printer makes a better or at least different guard.
@NoLongo2 жыл бұрын
These are not acting as full ducts. Maybe there is a slight efficiency gain at certain RPM but the main purpose is protection. Ducted fans are rarely used on drones because they have worse aerodynamics, are heavier, and have worse efficiency outside of a narrow RPM band. FPV drone flight is too dynamic to benefit from ducts.
@GabrielVelasco2 жыл бұрын
@@NoLongo Thank you for that explanation. There are a few MICRO drones that advertise themselves as having ducted fans, but you're saying makes sense. It might also be that with a very small drone the percentage of thickness of even these full guards is enough to make them essentially count as ducts? Thanks again for the explanation.

I dont see what the point is of this drone when the Air 3 exists for (almost) the same price. And can also be used with the motion controller and goggles. And has the same top speed (not counting Avatas manual mode). And has 2x/3x the battery life. And has better night mode. And has a zoom tele lens. 18min battery life for the Avata is just a dealbreaker. And its not even 249g like the Mini. The mini which has 2x battery life.. While being lighter.

@TheUnknowncaller122 жыл бұрын
Just let you know brother you can’t do manual moves with the motion controller. You basically kneecap the Drone packaging it with the motion controller because manual mode is only offered in the stick controller that you’re used to which I think is an extra $149 and you cannot buy it in a package with the drone itself. I flew in both on the FPV and the motion controller is fun , and if your experience level is anywhere near mine which I’m sure it is in the ballpark you’d probably get The hang of it relatively quickly. I never crashed my DJIFPV with the motion controller but then again you can’t do flips or Rolls at all with it so there’s no real danger and less you’re flying around obstructions. But you’re right the normal controller is a much better choice. Personally I think they may too many of those motion controllers for the original FPV drone and they were just sitting around because nobody bought them and to sell them instead of packaging the normal controller like they did with the FPV they replaced it with the new motion controller that nobody bought on the previous drone. It makes sense considering they don’t Allow you to pick the controller that packed with the drone
@HumbleHeartMinistry2 жыл бұрын
