I'm wondering if you can tell me what those short horizontal dashes are running up the right side of the screen next to the camera settings? There's about 10 or so of them with a small circular dot on the top and bottom and the solid blue circle which moves up and down. Probably a dumb question, but I can't find the answer anywhere. Did flew the drone 3 time with my iPhone 6 and works good, using also the sun protection. The result to see the app on the window of the iPone 6 screen is not so good, because of the bright light. I've purchased the Apple 9.7' iPad Pro (256GB, Wi-Fi + 4G LTE. Do I have to download the DJIGO on this iPad Pro and connect after all to the remote controle and next step is to connect the iPad to the Drone? Please could you advise me the steps I have to do. Hi Tom, Just got my new Phantom 4 and subscribed to your channel. My gimbal tilt stopped working just a couple of hours into flying, can't seem to get it back. Nice videos, I have been watching them many times :) Questions: I having problems when downloading my video recordings to my MacBook Pro. When watching the film stop all the time…it´s like a bad "slow-motion " video. I try to download to another pc, this time on older Mac. The same thing happens on this machine. When watching it on my phone with the DJI GO app the video seams to be ok? Have you heard about others with the same problems? My MacBook Pro is 4 years old and little slow… full of pictures and movies, maybe this is the problem…? Yes….I have a Phantom 4…3 days old :)

Quick question: since there is no way to deactivate VPS in P or S mode, is it still safe to fly over water in these modes? Does the altitude matter? I plan on flying over water at a minimum of perhaps five meters, probably most often much higher.

ive got my phantom, i was going though the activation process and pressed to finish it and it kept saying cant activate invalid device, i eventually somehow ended up in the camera screen but hasnt said anything about updates and when i look in the about tab in the menu it has the app version listed, version N/A under that and flight controller version with some numbers. I have a question. When I turn on my tablet for my Phantom 4 pro a little black triangle shows up. It states re-calibrate the vision sensors. I have a Dell computer with Microsoft 10 setup on it. I was told it is not necessary to calibrate the compass every time you go out to fly. He stated it was only needed if one was to drive a far distance, lets say 90 miles, before it was necessary.

Why on every flight I get weak image transmission signal ?? Or weak remote control signal ?? I have all my settings correct even went through them one by one set them up like you !! I have calibrated IMU and compass many times ? Software up to date.! I only get it out about 500-700 feet and already getting weak signals ? Everyone else seems to get it out miles but I can't get at least a 1000 feet lol. I have even flown in different areas to see if maybe it was the location I was in but same effect ? Any ideas ???

Tom, Excellent channel! I love your tutorials! - Quick question.. Today was my first day with my Phantom 4.. I watched this video and your camera settings video and set most of everything like you suggested: 4K - 3840x2160 at 30FPS MP4 format and NTSC. I went for my maiden flight, and made a 7 minute recording. after I landed, I ended the video. but I can't view the video anywhere but the DJI GO app. I took out the SD card and uploaded it to my iPad mini 2 using the SD card adapter, and the import seemed to go well including a thumbnail for the video, but the iPad can't play it. Is it because its 4K? or because its MP4? It also wont open on my PC in Windows Media player, movie maker, and wont even convert using my favorite video converter... Am I just getting too old? LOL!

Thanks for the input guys! I did some testing yesterday to find out exactly how well my phantom 4 and my iPad mini retina will play together. I tested every resolution and frame rate combination in both .MOV and MP4 formats, and came to the following conclusion: my iPad mini will support play back (and I assume iMovie editing) of either.MOV or MP4 format at 1080P resolution or lower, with the exception of 1080P at 60 frames per second. For some reason it doesn't seem to like that frame rate in 1080 from the phantom 4. However I can record 1080 P at 60 frames per second from my GoPro and it will play that just fine. The GoPro saves in MP4, so now I'm just confused why it will except that resolution and frame right combination from the GoPro but not from the Phantom.

I want to fly far away upto 4 to 5 km but 😢 I can't go over 950 meters. battery timing also 20 to 22 mint. when I go over 950 meters controller shows weak signals and than no signal so return to home back. you can not change the bitrate , you can change the FPS ( refresh rate ) to get a smoother video , in 1080 you can go up to 120 fps and in 4k you can go up to 30

How to update remote / aircraft firmwares with Mac? Can I do that by using the DJI GO app? It's not really specified on the manuals, and as far as I know, the Phantom 3 used to be updated via desktop computer. Please someone help! :)

+Vylkeer I had to update via the software you download from DJI site, (they had a mac version too). Then you connect usb to mac, then micro usb to phantom 4 by the card reader. Open software and login. Then it will show the phantom 4 and give firmware options. Took about 15mins.
