Getting a lot of comments on this; the GoPro and O3 are both hard mounted to the drone. I've noticed micro-vibrations are pretty common for Naked GoPro's on smaller cinewhoops. Most of the time I soft-mount my GoPro's to combat this. I did this intentionally to show how both cameras compare when hard mounting. Clearly, the O3 gyro performs a bit better than the Hero 11 in this regard.
@andytroy Жыл бұрын
It could be that the GoPro uses a longer shutter speed, causing motion blur. That motion blur is more visible after stabilising. Try to use a shorter minimum shutter speed, that might fix it. I don't have any problem on my QAV-pro with hard mounting my GP11
@pabsvisions Жыл бұрын

@neofotografie Жыл бұрын
@@pabsvisions no he means with vibration isolation, i m guessing similar to whats done on the geprc cinelog frames...and visible on his pavo25 frame with those rubber grommets

I've noticed with my naked GoPro mounted on my Cinelog25, sometimes the battery rubs up against the back of the soft mount plate and I have to make sure that the battery is strapped down and not too close to that mount. I believe a lot of vibrations were coming from that. Also, I've noticed since I started using a custom printed vertical mounted naked GoPro that there seems to be some more front to back wobble now. And then the internals of the case can cause a bit of vibration as well. When mounted, move the GoPro around slightly and see if you can hear any creaking sounds. I've added some custom fitted foam to keep the camera internals much more secure and noise free inside of the TPU case. In my head, all of this makes since as to why the O3 has less vibration than the GoPro footage.
@albertg968 Жыл бұрын
I noticed that too and was about to comment about that. I notice that on my videos I do for real estate time to time
@Photonees Жыл бұрын
The GoPro has alot of vibrations in the zoomed-in footage. The O3 is perfect smooth. Also, what you say about the O3 being darker in shadows, that is also a result of the GoPro having a warmer whiteblance. In photography, a warmer balance will make images look brighter if I edit them and push the WB to a warmer tint. For me, the O3 looked more natural. The O3 has a cooler Wb with a tint of green and the GoPro warm with a tint of pink. Have to look on my eizo, but I would say, that unless you compare, the O3 makes it a lot easier to film and without the weight of the GoPro, you get a lot longer flighttime and would even say, probably smoother flying with a lower RPM.
@TRONCATFPV Жыл бұрын
When I was first testing out the O3 I thought white balance would affect the shadows but I tested WB locked at about 3500 and 6000 and noticed little to no difference in the detail in the shadows. Perhaps with the newer firmware that would make a difference. Next time I fly it I'll try out various locked WB. Also both cameras are intentionally hard mounted to the drone to show that the O3 handles vibrations a bit better than GoPro.

This was a very nice comparison! Gopro seems to retain finer details slightly better, but is prone to jitter. One surprising fact is that if you switch the O3 to ultrawide and then crop vertically, you will get the same FOV as the GP11, even though O3 is 16:9! However, you lose gyro data in ultrawide, so you will have to rely on Rocksteady.

That was a perfect house for the O3...great lighting in that one. I find when filming properties with less than ideal lighting that's where the O3 struggles a bit. For me at least it ends up being more work in post to try and bring out shadow details with the O3 footage. It's getting there though and it's impressive how well it does! Like you, the naked GP11 is the default for me with clients as it's easier in post to get the deliverable looking good and as you mentioned more clients in the real estate industry are wanting the vertical edits. Well done, great video showing the two side by side. My main rigs for filming real estate are almost identical to your back up. Love the Micro-Pro Whoop. Right? I was surprised lol Both cameras are hard mounted and footage stabilized through gyroflow. I've noticed when naked GoPro's are hard mounted on smaller builds like this, you run into micro-vibrations pretty easily. @@TRONCATFPV Very interesting. I've been on the fence between these two for a few weeks now. My buddy built your pavo25, and loves it, but it's so loud. I'm more enamored with the QAV, so was thinking maybe building that one. The only reason I hesitated is because I kept wondering what made you switch. Now I'm just going to build it and see if I like it LOL. Thanks man, your videos inspire me and I appreciate your style, insights and sharing your experience. 👍

A superb comparison! *Thumbsup! I'm wondering if you fly ANGLE or AIR mode indoor? I want to try it as well. Cheers!
@dronemagicnl4986 Жыл бұрын
Never air mode indoors, there’s no wind so you don’t need it while airmode can cause the drone getting sucked into wall when flying to close

I always fly in acro 👍

The amount of jellow the GP footage has is insane

Yea I've always gotten really noticeable micro vibrations in GoPros when they are hard mounted. Since the O3 is hard mounted, I wanted to keep it consistent with the GP11 and hard mounted that as well. Normally like to run dampened mounts with GoPros specifically to combat this

so u switched to qay-cine 2,5 ?
@TRONCATFPV Жыл бұрын
For residential real estate I still prefer the Pavo25 build. I have been using this QAV 2.5 build more and more for bigger projects and larger real estate. If I end up making the switch to this one, I’ll make a build video for you guys 🤙

Is this the same tune as the Pavo25 build you did, or do you have a different tune for this one?

All the details on the drone are included at the end of the video. This drone is on the QAV pro 2.5" Cinewhoop frame: bit.ly/3U0MTz5

Very precise flying! Impressive! The image quality is very close, the colors just seem more vivid on the GoPro. I wonder if you can make up for that with color grading. The GoPro does have better slow motion settings than the O3 unit, if you need that feature.

Hey great video love all the excellent information! Just wondering what rates you use and whether you use a throttle curve or a motor output limit? Thanks

I followed your series and the previous build and have some questions please. I want to be able to fly with O3 but also carry a GoPro Mini 11. I am insure with what setup to go with and frame now I’ve seen this. What would you recommend? Even using the older build you did but with parts being tricky to acquire would I work similar with the speedybee f7 AIO and some alternative motors?
