Your analysis is so way off! You’re comparing Joker at 25 - 30 years, Sinners is the new boss! What you’re not talking about is Sinners mind at 23, never saw this before in tennis. What’s the difference, most tennis players developed this over the years Sinners was born with it. I heard him said as a young youth that his biggest asset is his mind, to stay calm under pressure and be not moved. I thought okay, I have to keep observing this to see if it’s true and I must say he’s there now, nothing moves him. He has the tennis and the mental steel mind to back it up. I have learned a long time ago that you can have the best tennis possible but without the mind Sinners presently have, it’s not easy. To think he has it at 23. People often talk about Novak strong mind but he didn’t have this at 23, nay, it was a long process. I would like to see any of these present players or past tennis players perform at Sinners present level with all that he’s dealing with, it takes a steal mind. He’s incredible!

Sinner has got Novak’s number. Novak doesn’t match up well to Sinner in terms of game style. This is unlike Novak versus Alcaraz, where Alcaraz is more erratic. He can be brilliant and thrash Novak but also drop his level suddenly where Novak can take advantage. Sinner is a different beast. He is ultra consistent. His highest level is not as high as Alcaraz but his lowest level is higher than Alcaraz’s lowest level, which makes him tough for Novak every time.

Hi everybody! I think u are wrong this time. Sinner har proved several times that eh can best Nole, and in terms of will to get one more title, I do think jannik has just started collecting atp titles and he' ll not let Nole stop him to continue to do you. I really admire Nole for what he has been able to achieve, but now it' s time to face the reality and realize that Jannik and Carlos own together this sport at the highest highest level right now. I said it beforehand that there are factual errors in the analysis. Also this type if analysis doesn't work. Talk more about matchup, recent results, and gameplan / tactics to be expected and then make a prediction. Also leave out the fanboyism which is clearly affecting your analysis. And never just hand out a checkmark on netplay for Djokovic like that. He butchered his volleys at the Wimbledon final as he did today. I give this feedback because you are one of the few who could actually produce a proper analysis on YT but simply seem to refuse to do so at times.
@knotwilg3596
@knotwilg3596 Ай бұрын
I agree. Nik's level of technical analysis is far ahead of any other YTber. But the check mark comparison is oversimplifying the tactics. He can do better. We have hindsight now but the question going into this game was how Novak's reduced movement these days was going to stand up against Jannik's supreme fire power. The answer is not to give him any angles, so we'd expect lots of body shots from Novak. Second tactic would be based on Jannik's relative discomfort at the net. So we'd expect drop shots or half long slices. I'm going to rewatch it now from that perspective. Fair to say, a tie break and one break is a tight match.

@@knotwilg3596 you already gave me more insights on the gameplan than the video. And it is strange to realize I didn't see one single dropshot this match, maybe missed a point but can't recall one. And yes it was a tight match, still: Sinner was never threatened, no deuce game in the first set, no breakpoints and he was 3-0 up, 4-1, 5-2, 6-3 up in the Tie break. Never was close to being broken or losing a set. To me Sinner seemed a bit flat today and yesterday and was probably at 90%

He is producing more errors than winners all year bar on serve, didn't win one Atp tour title (Olympics isnt ATP) or a Slam and plays his second/third final of the year here in a tournament where his draw couldn't be more favourable. The stats don't lie, if he plays like this he isn't winning Slams next year, considering also his draws will get tougher not being in the top 2-5 after this year

@@fwvw7056 1)Michelsen is an underrated left-handed player that plays righty for the nasty backhand and will be one of the top Americans soon. 2) Cobolli is an extremely talented and athletic player that is always a danger as he had two big comeback victories against Shelton this year and made it to the DC Finals. 3) Safiullin is always a threat that has beaten Alcaraz and Zverev in straight sets. 4) Mensik is the top young prospect under 20 other than João Fonseca 5) Taylor Fritz is the most consistently good American player that usually goes deep in the big tournaments That isn't exactly an easy draw if you watch tennis and see what all five of those players are capable of. Also Djokovic had classic come from behind five set victories against great clay court players in Musetti and Cerundolo at Roland Garros.
@fwvw7056
@fwvw7056 Ай бұрын
@@soysaucehairdye7869 everything is relative and now compare this draw to the other side where Medvedev, Sinner and Alcaraz reside on one half. Djokovic only got Zverev who is dealing with Pneunomia and the after effects. All fun and all this breakdown but there are reasons Fritz is the only seeded player of the lot. Mensik e.g. is a great prospect but completely lacks a second serve. He only won 29% on his second serve the first set and still nicked the set. And Fritz once again did a horrible choke job in the tie break, where he couldn't get a first serve in (nonetheless won the most rallys) and even double faulted at 5-3. For a Masters this has been a favourable draw. Shouldn't be too hard to admit.

@@soysaucehairdye7869 o and the "classic comebacks" at Roland Garros did cost him didn't it. The question is, why did he have to play two 5 setters against those two? It's because his level simply isn't that of before. I don't get why that's so hard to admit. The objective results are there.

Jannik's defense is now on par with Djokovic. His feel is his weak point but it's not like Djokovic plays the most intricate of drop shots all the time while Sinner is screwing them up. So for me it's a check mark on Djoko's return and net game vs a check mark on Jannik's offence and movement. They're tied but Jannik still is the favorite to me.

It’s interesting because Jannik used to have better net game and feel but I think he has worked much on his baseline strength and stamina, that net play and instinct has been lost. I agree that Novak is more motivated in this match as after all the talk of Alcaraz/Sinner winning all 4 grand slams this year, Djokovic wants to prove that he is still relevant. If he loses this match, talk will only go louder and it ll become difficult for him mentally going forward. However, i dont buy your argument Djokovic being more clutch than Sinner at this point of career. Last 2 times before Aus open, that Sinner beat djokovic (davis cup and atp finals), were matches where Djokovic was beaten being match points down and in final set tie break.

Hi Nick, i have been following men's atp tour my whole life as you. I am also a professional tennis coach as well. Sinner has won his last two matches against the goat and he also has won their only meeting on outdoor hard courts as well. Sinner will beat the goat tommorow. Sinner is playing almost perfect tennis this year just look at his match record 59-6. He has only lost to four players all year Carlos, Tsitsipas, Rublev, and Meddy. He is also one year younger than when Novak had a season in which he lost less than 10 matches in a single season. The only strokes that Novak has that is better than Sinner's are his volleys and return of serve.
@fwvw7056
@fwvw7056 Ай бұрын
@@pltennis i will add: this year Sinner has the best forehand, backhand and return shot on tour (literally)- stats are there. And Djokovic' volleys are mostly played when he sets up the point expertly and has a relative easy volley to make. When he uses it as a agressive tactic like in the Wimbledon final one can see his volleying is actually mediocre or even bad at times. He butchered the first 6 or 7 volleys against Carlos that match. And his overhead (smash) is not even top 50 / 100 level.

Hi Nick . Thank you for what you have been doing for the tennis and for all people like me which fell in love with the sport. Regarding Sinner and Djoko ... I think Sinner is also able to read matches and find solutions. Sinner has to win for too many reasons

Djoker to win tomorrow. Easiest draw I’ve ever seen a #4 seed have. Fresh as a daisy coming in. Sinner has played lots over the past couple weeks. I’m putting my money on Djoker, and I’m gonna bet big.

Djokovic needs to serve well & hold to put pressure on Sinner. If Djokovic offers 0/30 to Sinner, it will be extremely difficult to recover 40/40. Moreover, Sinner won't give many Break points like Alcaraz. My prediction 50:50

as soon as I learned that Djokovic had chance to win his 100th title this masters I was confident Djokovic would show up immensely focused. obv Djokovic was motivated by his rivalries with Rafa and Roger and the fact that he has beaten their records will certainly satisfy him a lot. but all 3 of these guys were maybe some of the best competitors ever, and none of them have been forced out by anything other than their bodies failing them. Djokovic can and still win masters and grand slams, he's going to keep playing until he can't anymore (if that ever happens😅)

@@saladin3452 then again, he had all year to win atp tour titles and didn't win one of them. Motivation is important but he was motivated for the Slams and other Masters as well but his level simply wasn't good enough. Today isn't about motivation but simply who brings the best game.

Bravo! I totally agree! Djokovic is Tennis genius and will outsmart and outplay Sinner tomorrow, just as he did with Alcaraz for super desired Olympic Gold! He is the bert ever in figure out someones game and use it to beat him in next matches! Of course if he is enough fit to can run, move as a lion on the court, without limit . Sinner is impressive in court coverage too.

Djokovic Is a tennis genius, but it is impossible to tell for sure that he *will* win the final. I feel the opposite might happen and Sinner could win, possibly even in two sets. Let's see how that goes, hopefully it will be a great match.

Remember Djokovic had shorter recovery time after tough match against Fritz as you get older you need more time to recover for most people! Sinner also seems able to step up his game when there are crucial points in the match as he did numerous times in recent matches and against Djokovic. In second set Sinner started to dominate Djokovic couldn’t keep up the intensity it seemed from highlights and Sinner played better with confidence of winning the first set while not playing at his absolute best? I only saw the highlights. Brave to back Djokovic Nick !

@qtancourt371 Ай бұрын
Fritz was the only seed he faced, and it happened to be a seed Djokovic owns. Djokovic was helped avoiding a 3rd set when Fritz choked at 5-3 in the TB. All the threats were in the other half of the draw, yet Djokovic still showed signs of the wobbles that have affected him all year. Sinner? Going great since the US Open. He should beat Djokovic, and probably in straight sets.

I Agree with most of what You said,except for Sinner having the hardest forehand😊I Think good old Nick Kyrgios is quite unbeatable in that department.The way he sometimes slaps the ball is unique,because the biomechanics are just so natural in his case.I know how You mean it though,Jannik can do it constantly and from tough angles,so overall he has a better game than Kyrgios.

Joker didn't really have a test until the final. It seems that they have favored him with the draws. Machac or Carlitos could have given a good account of him. Sinner took care of of him in straight sets. Joker it's time for an honorable retire and leave a path for the new generations. Djoker you are a legend.
