2016 Audi S7 review

This is a detailed review of my 2016 Audi S7. I really wanted to do something different and give you my take on the car after 2 months of ownership. Things I like, things I don't like and the mods that I have done and the mods that are going to come.

Thank you! What color were you locked on to before? You know what else I like about Sepang blue? It's not available as a standard color on an A7!!! I'm telling you I always do white or black car colors but the amount of compliments I have gotten on this color is crazy. I'm so glad I got it.

Great review, one of the more honest regular guy ones. I can see you love your cars and seriously consider what mods you want that will work for you, but, more importantly, won't hurt the value of the car for the future. looking forward to seeing the ECU flash. These tuners definitely know what they're doing and their name speaks for itself. Surprised to hear that the Bang & Olufsen system isn't all that good in the S7.

Thanks man! Yeah I'm on vacation right now but will be back soon, and when I get back Imma pull the trigger on the flash. And the B&O is better then the Bose for sure but $5k better? In my opinion no way. I actually was planning the whole way to get the B&O but after hearing them back to back I just couldn't see the value beside the really cool tweeters popping out of the dash, hahaha.

6:30 I'm pretty sure in all Audis if you go into reverse, the sensors and camera activates automatically. If not, there should be a setting for that in the menus. (2011 Audi Q5 3.2 Premium Plus)

Your videos are get. I didn't know of Roc-Euro until I saw your video. I order it the same day. I have a 16 S7 almost identical to yours however I did opt for the B&O and Milltek exhaust with roc-euro intake. I had my shop do all the installation as well as the tune. I also did the 17mm lowering and seat belt chime delete and euro tale light bake light pulse and a few other computer changes. Keep the videos coming. Thanks!

I just couldn't see the value for $5k on the B&O cause it didn't seem that much better than the Bose for some reason when I tested them out side by side. Maybe I should have gotten it but too late now hahaha. So how long ago did you order the Roc Euro intake? Cause some people have been waiting 10 weeks, its crazy!!

Great color ! I got a 2016 S4 in misano red with the sport diff but it was a tough choice between this blue and the red :) Good choise of taking the S7 over the RS7, The dual clutch make it's a much better drivers car than the regular automatic in the RS7

Hey Jesse. I'm wondering what you did for the caliper paint? Did you have them professionally done where they remove the calipers and spray them. Or did you use something like the DIY G2 caliper paint? I'm considering what to for my 2016 S7. I found a shop that says the G2 turns out nicely for a brush on. Curious if you used something like that and you were happy with the results.

I had a mobile guy come out to his work and do it so he just took off the wheels and taped everything off. He used the G2 style spray paint (not exactly sure what his exact product was) but it turned out really really nice! Im so happy with the results and for me to take it somewhere and have them remove the calipers it would have costed around $900 bucks plus my car down for 2 days. This way the guy came to me at work and it was only $400. Hope this helps.

Are the s6's any good in the long run? I see some 2008-2010s for sale for only like 15-20k$ with not too bad of miles. Considering the looks, power, features, and performance it seems like a steal, & had me interested months back, but i figured any major maintenance/fixes costs would be super steep lol.

Not crazy about the C6 S6 styling but those V10's with exhaust sound nuts!!! After all it is a Lamborghini motor in it. I think with some wheels they can look good though. Maintenance cost could be an issue though.

Yeah this was the first real video I shot and your right its not that great (production wise) but I think I am getting better! I wanted the gran coupe as well for the longest time but really glad I went with the Audi. I also see gran coupes all the time where I live and don't really see my car too much (which I like). Your gonna love the S7!

I called Roc-Euro right after watching your video on a Friday and it was shipped out Monday for a Wednesday delivery. I opted for the plain stainless steel look. Powder coated parts were a two week wait. They showed up on Wednesday as promised. My car Dynoed at 406hp to the wheels at Smokey's Dyno in North Canton Ohio. Once the car is fully tuned come Friday I will up date you with the results. They do a before and after dyno.

Smokey's dyno has a custom tune for S7/RS7 and they also do the ECT as well. They make bigger power gains than ARP and VR and they do it on the dyno. They have real world numbers not predictions based on crank HP. I'm hoping for north of 550 whp but who knows. I will have the numbers Friday.

Great video! I just picked up a CPO S6 and was looking to do the resonator delete as well but could use some more information on how you went about doing that. 3k for an exhaust is just not worth it. I am doing the vag lower and adding the intake in a couple of weeks. Awesome car!!

So just call around to local exhaust shops and ask them how much to remove your resonator and put straight pipes in. I had to put an H pipe in place of my resenator because of where the valves are located in the 2016's but if yours is 2013-2015 you should be fine with straight pipes. Mine costed $250 bucks and I have seen guys on the forums paying anywhere from $200-$300. If you need me to send you a pic of the install under the car, I can do that just let me know.

So I haven't dyno'd my car yet but did some logging through VAG-COM and had some second gear pulls come in at 469 Wheel horsepower. So if you factor in the roughly 18% driveline loss its about 553 crank horsepower! Not bad.

Hey Jessie! I really enjoyed the video and the "insider" tips from an owner who lives with an S7 all the time. You don't get that from the main car magazines. My question is: Which nano coating did you use? Any particular brand? How much time did it take, along with the aforementioned $1000? I certainly want to have mine done!

So I wen't with a company called Gtechniq! My detailer really likes Gtechniq and Modesta. He can do C Quartz finest and Opticoat as well but prefers Gtechniq and Modesta. Modesta would have been around $400 bucks more because that coating has to sit under lights for 6+ hours. So I went with Gtechniq as I was doing my wife's car as well. Still really happy with the coating after 6 months. I think the key with all of these nano coating products is the application process. So find someone you know is experienced and Im sure it will come out great no matter what the product is.

It's all how you drive, haha. You can cruise on the highway and get 23 mpg easy! But I never did. I averaged 14.9 mpg with city and highway driving but mostly city.

I have a 2018 S6 (in Sepang Blue too), and I agree that the S7 is more attention grabbing. That's actually what I like better about the S6 is that it blends in more. They're both great cars though.

Thanks! virtual cockpit is only available on A4, Q7,TT, and R8 right now. it will be available on S7 as a 2018 model when they do the major redesign.

What's up Jessse, I'd like for you to tell me the steps necessary to launch my audi S7 and if you can please provide with information on simple modifications that you think I can do to my car; Such as the stereo system and the exhaust system, I would really appreciate your help.

123456710ish So make sure your car is in dynamic mode, traction control off and steering wheel straight. step on brake to the floor and then mash the gas while still holding the brake. Rpm will go to 5k then let go off the brake and have fun!!!! As for mods the best bang for your buck is ECU and TCU tune. If your car is a 2016 or newer I would recommend to delete the resonator to wake up the exhaust. Also adding a sub and amp makes a huge improvement to the stock Bose system. Hope this helps!

Hey can you code the rear taillights so then you activate the turn signal it'll have amber indicators? Or is it not possible in the US version of the taillights.

I dont think the U.S. taillights can be coded like that. I have seen people get the Euro taillights so they can have the sweeping turn indicators and such. I'll check though.

+Jesse Papike I looked around and the answer is no. The euro lights are illegal because of the cool sweeping turn signals sadly (and stupid) but I wonder if I could still get the sweeping signals and not get caught by cops or DOT

I know a couple of guys with S6's that have the euro taillights in the states. Its pretty expensive but looks amazing! I don't think any cops will ever know that they are illegal, I mean Mustangs have sweeping taillight blinkers. But I do know you cannot code the US taillights to have sweeping turn signals as I have already looked into it.

Honestly like 25 minutes tops the first time. It is super easy and very straight forward. the longest part was the heat shield, it took me like 10 of the 25 minutes to figure out how it got installed. Very easy though and would take me about 15 minutes now to swap back to stock intake if I wanted to.

Any exhaust shop should be able to fabricate an H pipe for you on the spot. plan on paying around $250 for it. let me know what you get, I'd love to see it!
